Thanksgiving IV ~

19-25 March:  I've been thankful for the kind fellow who offered his arm (and the lady who insisted she'd handle my carry-on bag) when the WC helper didn't find me before boarding after our scheduled flight was canceled in SLC; for the warm welcome from the CO D.D. and D.S.I.L. when we arrived in Denver; for the majestic mountains and their reminder of the message from Psalm 121:1,2  where we read: "I look up to the hills, but where will my help really come from? My help will come from the Lord, the Creator of heaven and earth" (ERV); I was thankful for a catch-up on sleep missed yesterday with the EARLY flight out of Lewiston; for a quiet day, no plans for running and doing in some other place; for this assurance of Jesus as Savior from 1 Thessalonians 5:9,10: "God doesn’t intend to punish us, but wants us to be saved by our Lord Jesus Christ.  Christ died for us, so that we could live with Him, whether we are alive or dead when He comes" (CEB); for the message of  'War Room' and the beautiful example of  prayers of a real prayer warrior; for the privilege of prayer; for the promise of the Spirit who puts my prayers into heaven's powerful language (Romans 8:26); for the ERV wording of this text which reads: ". . ..The Spirit helps us. We are very weak, but the Spirit helps us with our weakness. We don’t know how to pray as we should, but the Spirit Himself speaks to God for us. He begs God for us, speaking to Him with feelings too deep for words"; for lots of TLC from all in this house - from contrast baths and poultices for my painful foot to the delicious and healthful meals prepared; for the promise of the Holy Spirit's work in us from John 16:8 where we read: "When the Helper comes, He will show the people of the world how wrong they are about sin, about being right with God, and about judgment" (ERV); for effective hydrotherapy relieving the inflammation in my foot, for the local hydro expert who explained how gout is aggravated by the otherwise effective contrast baths and suggested other options; for this affirmation in 1 Peter 5:8,9: " Control yourselves and be careful! The devil is your enemy, and he goes around like a roaring lion looking for someone to attack and eat.  Refuse to follow the devil. Stand strong in your faith. You know that your brothers and sisters all over the world are having the same sufferings that you have" (ERV); thankful to be able to do some weight bearing on the foot that has been so sore, pain almost gone; for the continuing TLC; for the beautiful description of love in action from 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 where we read: "Love is patient. Love shows-kindness. Love does not envy, does not brag, is not puffed-up,  does not behave-dishonorably, does not seek its own things, is not provoked, does not count the bad,  does not rejoice over unrighteousness, but rejoices-with the truth, bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things" (DLNT); thankful for the sweet beginnings of the Sabbath with the story of  Peter's angel leading him safely out of prison, and singing sweet Sabbath hymns; thankful to have attended services in Copper Mountain as we were on our way to Grand Junction to visit eldest D.S. and his wife; and for the beauty of nature in the mountains and canyons along the way - our Creator's fingerprints are seen in all around us!
