Thanksgiving IV ~

12-18 March:  this week I have been thankful for the cheerful "wake-up" call from my phone, right on time this first day of DST - and for my wide-awake response! I'm thankful for the longer evening daylight through warmer days; and I am thankful, always, for the message of 2 Peter 1:3,4: "God’s power has given us everything we need for life and godliness, through our knowing the One who called us to his own glory and goodness. By these he has given us valuable and superlatively great promises, so that through them we might come to share in God’s nature and escape the corruption which evil desires have brought into the world" (CJB); I am thankful that the weekly edition of this "Thanksgiving . . . ." blog has already been posted at the Blogspot site for this week; thankful, I am, that the happy feet lady will be coming for eldest D.D. and me; and I am thankful for this message from Romans 8:27, 28 where we read: "And the Father who knows all hearts knows, of course, what the Spirit is saying as He pleads for us in harmony with God’s own will. And we know that all that happens to us is working for our good if we love God and are fitting into His plans" (TLB); thankful for yesterday's visit from the "Pampered Feet" lady who worked diligently on my toes and those of the eldest D.D. - feet feeling like new! I'm thankful to be a day closer to our take-off for Colorado to visit for a while with the youngest D.D.; and I am thankful for the "growth" message from 2 Peter 1:5,6 where we read: ". . . You must do your utmost. . . and see that your faith carries with it real goodness of life. Your goodness must be accompanied by knowledge, your knowledge by self-control, your self-control by the ability to endure. Your endurance too must always be accompanied by devotion to God; that in turn must have in it the quality of [kindness] and your [kindness] must lead on to Christian love" (PHILLIPS); thankful for another new day of life, with muscles responding appropriately to brain's requests; thankful for a quiet night with the dear Dandee - nothing worth raising an "alarm"; and thankful to read these words, with hope and trust in the One who promises, from Revelation 3:4,5: ". . . You will walk with me, clothed in white, because you are worthy to do so. Those who win the victory will be clothed like this in white, and I will not remove their names from the book of the living. In the presence of my Father and of his angels I will declare openly that they belong to me" (GNT); thankful to be one of God's chosen - what a privilege He offers to all who believe (John 15:16)! I'm thankful for the promptings of the Spirit as I go through my life - I pray I will be a better hearer; and I am thankful for this counsel from Colossians 3:12,13 where we read: "God has chosen you and made you His holy people. He loves you. So your new life should be like this: Show mercy to others. Be kind, humble, gentle, and patient. Don’t be angry with each other, but forgive each other. If you feel someone has wronged you, forgive them. Forgive others because the Lord forgave you" (ERV); thankful for this preparation day - preparation for the Sabbath, and for the Colorado trip beginning early the NEXT morning; I'm thankful for the delightful "girl picnic" we had yesterday afternoon - a visit to Winchester Lake, fresh air, and food - who could ask for more? I am thankful, too, for this beautiful invitation found in Revelation 3:20,21 where we read: "Listen! I am standing and knocking at your door. If you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in and we will eat together. Everyone who wins the victory will sit with me on my throne, just as I won the victory and sat with my Father on his throne" (CEV); thankful for waking up to a new Sabbath morning - with plans for being blessed through Hope Channel and others that are sharing the good news; I'm thankful for the friends who will continue to watch for the return of these "Thanksgiving . . . ." notes in a couple of weeks; and I am thankful for the encouraging words found in  where we read: " May the God of your hope so fill you with all joy and peace in believing [through the experience of your faith] that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound and be overflowing (bubbling over) with hope" (AMPC).

                                                  See you next time!
