the strength that allows me to complete many of my activities of daily
living without assistance in this, my eighty-fifth year - not all are so
blest; thankful to see the avian friends busy at the feeders
outside my window - the Dark-eyed Juncos are my favorites this time of
year (I'm enjoying them for just a little longer, then they'll be off to
more northern homes to raise new families); thankful for the <span></span>message
given us in <u>Psalm 23:1-4</u> where it is written: "The Lord is my shepherd;
I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he
leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me
in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Yea, though I walk
through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for
thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me." (Comforted by
"Thy rod and thy staff"? Yes, because the shepherd uses them to to
protect and defend, not to punish and abuse!). messages reminding me that it is the perfect right-standing of the
Savior that that brings my salvation; thankful that the One who
made these promises is a faithful "promise keeper" - ". . . Indeed I

wisdom from <u>1 Peter 2:2-3</u> where it is written: "Babies who have just
been born want milk very much. In the same way, you should want God's
word. That is like good milk. It will make you grow up so that you will

the life counsel found in the Bible. Living life "my way" rarely
brings the happiness one seeks, but following the counsel found in
Scripture brings blessing upon blessing. I was thankful for signs that
spring is close at hand - the daffodil leaves poking through the mulch,
and leaf buds swelling on the lilacs; thankful, too, as I consider
the words of Jesus from <u>Matthew 22:37-39</u> where this is written: "'You
must love the <span></span>Lord your God,' replied Jesus, 'with all your
heart, with all your life, and with all your mind. This is the first
commandment, and it’s the one that really matters. The second is
similar, and it’s this: You must love your neighbor as yourself.'" (New
Testament for Everyone); </span><span class="x193iq5w xeuugli x13faqbe x1vvkbs x1xmvt09 x1lliihq x1s928wv xhkezso x1gmr53x x1cpjm7i x1fgarty x1943h6x xudqn12 x3x7a5m x1f6kntn xvq8zen xo1l8bm xzsf02u x1yc453h" dir="auto">thankful
for another fresh coat of white on the ground - a pleasure
for the eyes (not so much, though, for driving or walking!); thankful that there are only a few more weeks until Spring arrives; thankful for God's words as recorded in <u>Isaiah 46:9-10</u>: "Remember the
prior things—from long ago; I AM God, and there’s no other. I AM God!
There’s none like me, who tells the end at the beginning, from ancient
times things not yet done, <span></span>saying, 'My plan will stand; all that I decide I will do'" (Common English Bible), His Word is sure! for another day of life, and and strength to see me through it; thankful for the up-to-date forecasts of the weather in whatever part of
the country is home; thankful for this counsel from <u>1 John
3:18-20</u>: " My dear children, let’s not just talk about love; let’s
practice real love. This is the only way we’ll know we’re living truly,
living in God’s reality. It’s also the way to shut down debilitating
self-criticism, <span></span>even when there is
something to it. For God is greater than our worried hearts and knows
more about us than we do ourselves" (Message); </span><span class="x193iq5w xeuugli x13faqbe x1vvkbs x1xmvt09 x1lliihq x1s928wv xhkezso x1gmr53x x1cpjm7i x1fgarty x1943h6x xudqn12 x3x7a5m x1f6kntn xvq8zen xo1l8bm xzsf02u x1yc453h" dir="auto">thankful
for the memories that are stored in my head- what a
blessing comes from the practice of thanksgiving, for the happy memories
are reinforced and those less happy fade; thankful to be able to
remember so many of the hymns and songs I've learned over past years -
making melody in my heart is always a good thing; thankful for
the assurance in Paul's message to Timothy that can be found in <u>2
Timothy 1:7</u>, where we read: <span></span>"The
Spirit God gave us does not make us afraid. His Spirit is a source of
power and love and self-control" (Easy Reading Version); </span><span class="x193iq5w xeuugli x13faqbe x1vvkbs x1xmvt09 x1lliihq x1s928wv xhkezso x1gmr53x x1cpjm7i x1fgarty x1943h6x xudqn12 x3x7a5m x1f6kntn xvq8zen xo1l8bm xzsf02u x1yc453h" dir="auto">thankful that, in spite of the forecast of snow during the forecast
period, spring IS coming soon; thankful to see that the sun is
noticeably farther north as it makes its appearance through the bare
limbs of the tree outside my window - anyone else ready for spring? I
was thankful as well for this message from <u>Genesis 8:22</u>: "While the
earth remains, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter,
day and night, shall not <span></span>cease" (English Standard Version) - the cycle continues by the powerful Word of the Lord! </span><span class="x193iq5w xeuugli x13faqbe x1vvkbs x1xmvt09 x1lliihq x1s928wv xhkezso x1gmr53x x1cpjm7i x1fgarty x1943h6x xudqn12 x3x7a5m x1f6kntn xvq8zen xo1l8bm xzsf02u x1yc453h" dir="auto">
I was thankful for warm water whenever (and for WHATEVER) when I open a
tap - so many in this world have to walk far and carry a heavy load to
bring water to where they live; thankful for this precious thought, showing on the little packet of
verses on my desk, from <u>Psalm 73:25-26</u>: "Whom have I in heaven but you?
And there is <span></span>nothing on earth that I
desire besides you. My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the
strength of my heart and my portion forever." (English Standard Version); </span><span class="x193iq5w xeuugli x13faqbe x1vvkbs x1xmvt09 x1lliihq x1s928wv xhkezso x1gmr53x x1cpjm7i x1fgarty x1943h6x xudqn12 x3x7a5m x1f6kntn xvq8zen xo1l8bm xzsf02u x1yc453h" dir="auto">thankful

Father, help me follow Your guidance that my steps may not mislead

posted to this social network, sharing plans and happenings of the day; thankful to be a daughter of our Most High God, learning to live
like a child of the King; thankful as I read from <u>Isaiah 44:2-3</u>
where this is written: "The Lord who made you, who will help you, says:
'O servant of mine, don’t be afraid. My chosen ones, don’t be afraid.
For I will give you abundant <span></span>water for
your thirst and for your parched fields. And I will pour out my Spirit
and my blessings on your children." (The Living Bible); <span class="x193iq5w xeuugli x13faqbe x1vvkbs x1xmvt09 x1lliihq x1s928wv xhkezso x1gmr53x x1cpjm7i x1fgarty x1943h6x xudqn12 x3x7a5m x1f6kntn xvq8zen xo1l8bm xzsf02u x1yc453h" dir="auto">thankful
for all that's beautiful around me - evergreens festooned with snow,
the colorful lights in the little Centennial Park in the next block up
the street, and many other things that are beautiful; I was thankful for
the warmth of affection that covers me; thankful, too, for this
announcement of the Messiah - predicted long before His arrival - 'All
right then, the Lord himself will choose the sign—a child shall be born
to a <span></span>virgin! And she shall call him Immanuel (meaning, “God is with us”)'" (<u>Isaiah 7:14</u>, The Living Bible); </span><span class="x193iq5w xeuugli x13faqbe x1vvkbs x1xmvt09 x1lliihq x1s928wv xhkezso x1gmr53x x1cpjm7i x1fgarty x1943h6x xudqn12 x3x7a5m x1f6kntn xvq8zen xo1l8bm xzsf02u x1yc453h" dir="auto">thankful
for the love of "just the right word" that causes me to go to
dictionaries or the thesaurus on my shelf (or to GOOGLE!) to find the
one I need - see "catarrh"!; I was thankful for the occasional outcropping
of a sense of humor not always evident; thankful every time I
read these words from <u>Isaiah 49:25</u> where they are written: "... God
says, “ ... I’m the one who’s on your side, defending your cause,
rescuing your children.'" (Message); </span>thankful for rest and sleep - though interrupted by a long wakeful
period, retirement allows "sleeping-in" opportunities; thankful for
leftovers - flavors nicely melded by a little wait in the refrigerator;
thankful for these words from <u>Isaiah 43:1-3</u>: "But now,
thus says the Lord, who created you. . . and He who formed you . . . :
'Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; you
are Mine. When you <span></span>pass through the
waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not
overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned,
nor shall the flame scorch you. For I am the Lord your God, the Holy
One . . . your Savior;. . . .'" (New King James Version); thankful
for the longsuffering, the patience my heavenly Father has shown in
dealing with me - and for the passage in His Word that tells me that the
"good work" He has begun in me will be completed (<u>Philippians 1:6</u>); I was
thankful for how He has provided all I need and more; thankful for this "I will ...." promise in <u>Ezekiel</u> <u>11:19-20</u> where we
read: "I will give them a single purpose and put a new spirit in them. I
will remove their <span></span>stubborn hearts and
give them obedient hearts. Then they will live by My laws and obey My
rules. They will be My people, and I will be their God." (God's Word
Translation); <span class="x193iq5w xeuugli x13faqbe x1vvkbs x1xmvt09 x1lliihq x1s928wv xhkezso x1gmr53x x1cpjm7i x1fgarty x1943h6x xudqn12 x3x7a5m x1f6kntn xvq8zen xo1l8bm xzsf02u x1yc453h" dir="auto">thankful
for each and every day and all the blessings that are promised to come
with it; thankful for the promise of strength for those days; thankful for these words from <u>Lamentations 3:22-24</u> where we read:
"Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions
fail not. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.
'The Lord is my portion,' says my soul, 'Therefore I hope in Him!'” (New

Corinthians 5:20-21</u>: "Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though
God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be
