28 June-4 July: I've been thankful this week for our monthly pancake/waffle breakfast - what a joy to look
forward to this gathering; thankful for the cool air that is provided by
the air-conditioner in the dining-room window and my oscillating fan -
was able to sleep in spite of the heat; for this promise from Jeremiah
29:11-13: "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the
Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a
hope. Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will
listen to you. And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me
with all your heart"; for the mechanical servants which wash and dry my dirty clothes at the
touch of a button or two; for the healthcare provided in this small town
Monday through Thursday - and hospital care 45 minutes away (with
excellent Emergency Medical Service providers to get one to the ER if
necessary); and for this message from Jeremiah 31:13: "Then shall the
virgin rejoice in the dance, and the young men and the old,
together; for I will turn their mourning to joy, will comfort them, and
make them rejoice rather than sorrow"; for another another day of volunteer service at ETC. - only four more
weeks to play at that game as we'll be moving the end of July; that the
forecast calls for slightly cooler temps - we will see; for these words
from Ezekiel 11:19,20: ". . . I will give them one heart, and I will
put a new spirit within them, and take the stony heart out of their
flesh, and give them a heart of flesh, that they may walk in My
statutes and keep My judgments and do them; and they shall be My people,
and I will be their God"; for sound sleep and a sense of refreshment on awakening - what a
blessing rest provides! I'm thankful, too, for an $80 day at ETC. and for this promise: “I will seek what was lost and bring
back what was driven away, bind up the broken and strengthen what was
sick. . . ." Ezekiel 34:16;
for the blessing of another day of my Father's grace and mercy to me;
for another place to prop my broken chair - with better light for
reading; and for this promise from Psalm 1:1,3: "Blessed is the one. . .
whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law
day and night. That person is like a tree planted by streams of water,
which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither— whatever they do prospers"; to have survived the seven-+ hour power-outage in late-afternoon and
evening on Thursday - it was 0015 hours when the lights came on again - nothing like
trying to sleep when hot and sticky, but ". . . He grants sleep to
those he loves" Psalm 127:2; thankful for the access to specific
nutrition information on the internet; and for these words from
Scripture: "I will give thanks to the Lord because of his righteousness;
I will sing the praises of the name of the Lord Most High" Psalm 7:17; for another Sabbath celebration of the Creator's chosen memorial to
the finished work of forming our beautiful planet (Genesis 2:2,3); for
plans to go meet with our G'ville church family for study, praise, and
worship (thanks to D.D,2's offer of her air-cooled vehicle
for a comfortable return in the afternoon); for these words from Isaiah
58:13,14: "If you turn away your foot from the Sabbath, from doing your
pleasure on My holy day, and call the
Sabbath a delight, the holy day of the Lord honorable, and shall honor
Him, not doing your own ways, nor finding your own pleasure, nor
speaking your own words, then you shall delight yourself in the Lord;
and I will cause you to ride on the high hills of the earth, and feed you with the heritage of Jacob your father. The mouth of the Lord has spoken.”
