Thanksgiving II ~

7-13 July 2015:  This week I've been thankful for morning sun lighting up the puffy clouds floating high above the hilltops outside my window; for the "Believing is Seeing" (John 11:40) sermon we heard yesterday on the topic of acting as we trust the One who is guiding us; and for these words: "Give heed to the voice of my cry, my King and my God,for to You I will pray. My voice You shall hear in the morning, O Lord; in the morning I will direct it to You, and I will look up" (Psalm 5:2,3); for clear blue skies above me and sunshine in my heart; thankful that all my "limbs" (to use an old term) are working as the command center directs; and for these words from Scripture: ". . . Let all those rejoice who put their trust in You; let them ever shout for joy, because You defend them; let those also who love Your name be joyful in You. For You, O Lord, will bless the righteous; with favor You will surround him as with a shield" (Psalm 5:11,12);  looking forward to another day enjoying visits with the folk of this community as they come to shop at ETC. where I am a volunteer; I am thankful, too, that my usual breakfast of oatmeal - one that's good for me AND that I enjoy - is resting under cover on the stove-top (I cook for the week and reheat daily in the m/w); thankful for these words from Psalm 6:9: "The Lord has heard my supplication; the Lord will receive my prayer"; for a profitable day at ETC. - enough "little" sales to make the overhead plus a bit more; for the Chinese dinner from a favorite place (in Kooskia) that D.D. brought home yesterday; and for this from Psalm 7:9,10,&17: ". . . The righteous God tests the hearts and minds. My defense is of God, who saves the upright in heart. I will praise the Lord according to His righteousness, and will sing praise to the name of the Lord Most High";  for Wednesday's trip north and a look at the new house we'll be calling "home" by the end of this month, Lord willing; for safe traveling to Cottonwood and back home; and for this message from Psalm 8:1,9: "O Lord, our Lord, how excellent is Your name in all the earth, who have set Your glory above the heavens! O Lord, our Lord, how excellent is Your name in all the earth!"  I'm thankful just now for the fresh apricots from a neighbor's tree my sis brought by last evening; to have been able to correct a wrong account problem for an ongoing subscription; and for this invitation to praise from Psalm 9:1,2: "I will praise You, O Lord, with my whole heart; I will tell of all Your marvelous works. I will be glad and rejoice in You; I will sing praise to Your name, O Most High"; to be celebrating another Sabbath, our Creator's chosen memorial (Genesis 2:2,3) of His completion of the beautiful world upon which we live; for the special editions of our church paper, Adventist Review, offering full coverage of the quinquennial General Conference happening in San Antonio through this past week; and for this assurance from Ezekiel 20:12: "I made the keeping of the Sabbath a sign of the agreement between us, to remind them that I, the Lord, make them holy" (Good News Translation).
