Thanksgiving II ~

21-27 June 2015:  This week I have been thankful for a lovely weekend adventure along the Clearwater River; for a wonderful breakfast of homemade aebleskivers - a delightful Danish pancake variety that is a family tradition for our hosts (and entirely new to me!); and for these words from Proverbs 21:21: "One who earnestly seeks after and craves righteousness, mercy, and loving-kindness will find life in addition to righteousness (uprightness and right standing with God) and honor" (adapted); for sleep and rest that provide refreshment for a new day with its challenges and blessings; for all the ways our Father provides for the needs of those who live in this area; and for these words from the Word: "I will mention the lovingkindnesses of the Lord and the praises of the Lord, according to the multitude of His lovingkindnesses," Isaiah 63:7; for the offer D.D. and D.S.I.L. bid on the house in Cottonwood being accepted by the seller yesterday; thankful that it includes a small apartment for eldest daughter; and for these words:"And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus" Philippians 4:19; for a pleasant and profitable day at ETC. Tuesday, such fun to be a volunteer for the After School Kids program in our community; for a night without covers (other than the sheet) to keep warm; and for these words from Isaiah 63:7: "I will mention the lovingkindnesses of the Lord and the praises of the Lord, according to all that the Lord has bestowed on us, . . . according to His mercies, according to the multitude of His lovingkindnesses." {corrected citation from 22 June}; for the message I'm taking from John and Staci Eldrege's book, "Captivating" - and, by His grace, will give more of my life to Him; thankful for the day planned with Stacy and Evie in McCall; and for this message to all who see their need: ". . .Now this is His name by which He will be called: THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS" Jeremiah 23:6; for yesterday's ride through the gift of beauties that surround this place; for only short delays at the road-work site along Goose Creek - both going and returning; for this promise from Jeremiah 24:7: "Then I will give them a heart to know Me, that I am the Lord; and they shall be My people, and I will be their God, for they shall return to Me with their whole heart"; or another beautiful Sabbath morning - sunshine washing the high hills around me with promises that summer is here; for the repeated assurances that our prayers are heard (1 Kings 9:3; Proverbs 15:29; Acts 10:31; and 1 John 5:14 - among many); for these words from Jeremiah 24:6,7: ". . . I will set My eyes on them for good, and I will bring them back to this land; I will build them and not pull them down, and I will plant them and not pluck them up. Then I will give them a heart to know Me, that I am the Lord; and they shall be My people, and I will be their God, for they shall return to Me with their whole heart."
