Thanksgiving II ~

14-20 June:  I've been thankful this week for sound nights of sleep and the little furry creature that keeps me company when my D.D. is away; for the angels "who excel in strength, who do His word" (Psalm 103:20) that our Father sends in response to our call for help - His ear is always open to our cries (2 Chronicles 7:15); for this promise from Psalm 91:11 - "He shall give His angels charge over you, to keep you in all your ways;" for the happy memories from viewing old photos - good times with a visit from my parents and sibs;  for these words from Isaiah 49:25 (a promise every parent should keep in memory!): ". . . Thus says the Lord: “Even the captives of the mighty shall be taken away, and the prey of the terrible be delivered; for I will contend with him who contends with you, and I will save your children;" for the glorious day my sis and I shared as we drove the road via Allison Creek to G'ville with a "short-cut" to Florence; for the nice young man at the Recreation Area office who showed me the route we'd need (aside from the trip to Florence): and for this promise: "I will greatly rejoice in the Lord, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for He has clothed me with the garments of salvation. . . ." Isaiah 61:10; that D.D. is safely home (you should have seen Dandee's delighted greeting!); for the blue skies and puffy white clouds I can see from my window - another glorious day! And I am thankful for these words from Psalm 68:4,5 ~ "Sing to God, sing praises to His name; extol Him who rides on the clouds, by His name YAH, and rejoice before Him. A father of the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in His holy habitation;" for each new day that is given; for the boxes packed with books - and more boxes to fill this day thanks to my house-mate(s?); and this precious promise from Psalm 50:23: "Whoever offers praise glorifies Me; and to [one] who orders his conduct aright I will show the salvation of God”; for the ease the internet provides as we reach out through its services to connect with friends near and far away; thankful to be anticipating words from a favorite pastor/missionary who will be speaking at the Orofino Seventh-day Adventist Church tomorrow; and for this message from Philippians 4:8: "For the rest, (beloved), whatever is true, whatever is worthy of reverence and is honorable and seemly, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely and lovable, whatever is kind and winsome and gracious, if there is any virtue and excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think on and weigh and take account of these things [fix your minds on them]"; for kind greetings from the "family" at the the ranch on our arrival; for the lovely (though silent - no cell-phone access in that area) motel my sis had reserved for our stay; for this delightful invitation from Psalm 122:1 extended as we joined friends in Orofino: "I was glad when they said to me, Let us go to the house of the Lord!"
