Thanksgiving II ~

8-14 February:  I'm thankful for the continuing improvement in the speech and writing element; for the dear friends will continue their prayers as long as I am needing them; for reading aloud from God's Word - The Amplified Version gives me quite a workout as I read my Scripture passages for the day; for the sound sleep and rest of the past night; for this new morning with promised blessings - "They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness" (Lamentations 3:23); I'm thankful for the words of an old hymn that is running through my head this morning, "I need the prayers of those I love . . . ." - never so appropriate as now for all you love as they're going through life's stresses and trials; thankful that Lucy, the cat, has a friendly greeting awaiting me as I rise in the morning - it's nice to be needed; thankful that my neighbor had a spare leash and collar to lend after Dandee arrived naked in his travel box - I picked him and a couple of other item up after my clinic appointment yesterday - so much for multi-tasking! Many thanks for your continued prayers in my behalf as I recover.  I"m thankful this morning for an awareness of the great blessings the Creator has given as He heals and restores us after an illness or an injury; for the beauty that is everywhere around us - in all seasons; for the hoots of the Great Horned Owls as they search for their breakfast overhead; thankful this day for our Father's promise ". . . before they call, I will answer; and while they are still speaking, I will hear" Isaiah 65:24; for the company of our furry friends - all kinds of them, large and small; and for long-distance communication with far off family and friends (and for all the internet applications); for this promise, ". . . As your days, so shall your strength be" Deuteronomy 33:25; thankful that nothing lasts forever - gout in my wrist will go away; and enjoying my former landlady's temporary visit with her mom; I am thankful this morning for another Sabbath-day - the reminder of my heavenly Father's work in me: "Moreover I also gave them My Sabbaths, to be a sign between them and Me, that they might know that I am the Lord who sanctifies them" (Ezekiel 20:12); thankful for the extended years of my life and the joys and challenges they've brought to make me trust my Savior even more fully; and thankful for the blessings each of my children have brought into my life.
