Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, to the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen . (KJV)
What a precious assurance - He is able, able to keep us from falling, able to present us "faultless" before God's throne! Isaiah writes, "I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness. . ." (Isaiah 61:10, KJV). One of my favorite quotations explains this concept in these words: "When it is in the heart to obey God, when efforts are put forth to this end, Jesus accepts this disposition and effort as [our] best service, and He makes up for the deficiency with His own divine merit" EGW in Signs of the Times, 16 June, 1890.
Father, we thank You for all You have done (and are doing) to provide full salvation for all who come to You. Increase our faith, I pray. As You draw us with Your love, I ask that You tug our thoughts heavenward. Open the fetters that keep us chained to this earth. Give us deeper appreciation for Your Spirit that we may be filled with all Your fullness and be ready to meet You in peace. This is my prayer, in Jesus' name ~
Looking Forward to the 2011 Edition of carolynsdesk:
You will find change for this year. I am working on what I hope will become a book (e-book?) of daily devotions based on the messages from 2010. Future posts will be less frequent and may be somewhat irregular, but I plan to share something week to week at a minimum.
What to Expect:
An unabashed conservative Christian world-view: I am not ashamed of the gospel. My views on the particulars will differ from what yours may be, but free discussion is, I believe, a faith builder for all involved.
Connection: I will read your comments (and respond). Email me your questions and recommendations.
Connection: I will read your comments (and respond). Email me your questions and recommendations.
You Will Not Find:
Posts to meet a certain word count: I promise not to waste your time.Contoversial posts just to get more attention: We may not always agree, but I promise to write what is in my heart and value your response.
Posts full of keywords for the most effective SEO. I want to write for real people (you), not for search engines.
Rewards for signing on as a subscriber: Subscribe because you want inspiration or connection, not for some material gift!
How will carolynsdesk succeed?
If I'm not using these methods said to increase readership, how will readers find this website? I'm hoping you will share your interest in this site with others - in conversations or social networks, or however you give out information.Philippians 1:6 I am confident that He who has begun a good work in you will continue that work until the day of Jesus Christ.
