It Is All from Grace

 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—  (NIV,2010)

More than one hundred years ago, Julia H. Johnson was meditating on this text. Considering the benefits of God's grace in our lives, she was inspired to write the following:

Marvelous grace of our loving Lord,
Grace that exceeds our sin and our guilt!
Yonder on Calvary's mount outpoured,
There where the blood of the Lamb was spilled.

Sin and despair, like the sea waves cold,
Threaten the soul with infinite loss;
Grace that is greater, yes, grace untold,
Points to the refuge, the mighty cross.

Marvelous, infinite, matchless grace,
Freely bestowed on all who believe!
You that are longing to see His face,
Will you this moment His grace receive?

Refrain

Grace, grace, God's grace,
Grace that will pardon and cleanse within;
Grace, grace, God's grace,
Grace that is greater than all our sin.

He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love (Colossians 1:13, NKJV)

Philippians 1:6   I am confident that He who has begun a good work in you will continue that work until the day of Jesus Christ.
