13-19 November: During the past week, I was thankful for another day of life and a new slate - may the Father's character be written plain there; I was thankful for the angels that accompany us as we journey from place to place and praying for D.G.D.'s safe return to her home in Nevada; thankful for this admonition from 1 Peter 2:15-16 where we read: "... It is God’s will that by doing what is right and good you should hush the gabbing ignorance of the foolish. Live as those who are free and not as those who use their freedom as a pretext for evil, but live as God’s servants." (VOICE); thankful for the beautiful sunrise colors seen from my window - what a masterpiece the Creator paints for us to enjoy! I was thankful for news that a D.G.D. is safely back home in Nevada; thankful for this promise from 2 Peter 3:8-10: " But do not forget one thing, my dear friends! There is no difference in the Lord's sight between one day and a thousand years; to Him the two are the same. The Lord is not slow to do what He has promised, as some think. Instead, He is patient with you, because He does not want anyone to be destroyed, but wants all to turn away from their sins. But the Day of the Lord will come like a thief. On that Day the heavens will disappear with a shrill noise, the heavenly bodies will burn up and be destroyed, and the earth with everything in it will vanish." (Good News Translation); thankful for a new day of life - the internal machinery up and running, my limbs moving as directed; thankful, too, for family and friends both near and far; thankful for this message from the Word: "How happy I am because of your promises— as happy as someone who finds rich treasure" (Psalm 119:162, Good News Translation); thankful for the message of Jesus - "I WILL come again!" - from John 14:3; thankful for the wonderful prophecies in Daniel and Revelation that make it clear that He will come SOON - and VERY soon; thankful for the messages from these two passages: "Call out to Me, and I will answer you — I will tell you great things, hidden things of which you are unaware.” (Jeremiah 33:3; Complete Jewish Bible) and "Open my eyes [to spiritual truth] so that I may behold wonderful things from Your law." (Psalm 119:18; Amplified Bible); thankful for our Father's longsuffering with my slowness to learn His ways (those ways are ALWAYS best!); I was thankful, SO thankful, that He is trust-worthy, always faithful to His promises; thankful to read this new translation of a verse memorized in childhood: " Truth’s shining light guides me in my choices and decisions; the revelation of Your word makes my pathway clear." (Psalm 119:105; The Passion Translation); thankful for all the little daily blessings in my life - the things that work smoothly as buttons are pressed or switched on; thankful for the big blessings of a roof over my head, the family that shares it with me, comestibles in the pantry and fridge, running water in the pipes - and SO much more; thankful for the words of Jesus telling us HOW believers lives are to develop, as found in John 17:17: "Make them holy—consecrated—with the truth; Your Word is consecrating truth" (Message); thankful to be celebrating another Sabbath, the day our Creator set apart as "date time" with us after He'd finished forming and filling this globe on which we live (Genesis 2:2-3; Exodus 20:8-11); thankful for the certain hope of Jesus' return - sometime soon; and I was thankful for the message from Psalm 1:1-2 which reads: "The truly happy person doesn’t follow wicked advice, doesn’t stand on the road of sinners, and doesn’t sit with the disrespectful. Instead of doing those things, these persons love the Lord’s Instruction. . . ." (Common English Bible).
