Thanksgiving VII ~

11-17 October:  During this last week, I have been thankful for a raincoat in which to go walking;  thankful for the forecast that shows SOME sunny weather through week; thankful as I wondered what prompted these words from David in Psalm 62:1-2 where we read: "I stand silently to listen for the one I love, waiting as long as it takes for the Lord to rescue me. For God alone has become my Savior. He alone is my safe place; His wrap-around presence always protects me. For He is my champion defender; there’s no risk of failure with God...." (TPT); thankful for my appointment at a local salon to refresh my coiffure; thankful for sleep that refreshes my spirit; thankful for this refreshing spoken of in Acts 3:18 where it is written: "“Now it’s time to change your ways! Turn to face God so He can wipe away your sins, pour out showers of blessing to refresh you...." (MSG); thankful for the extravagant grace shown me by our Father and the Savior - loving me, redeeming me, preparing a place for me in His house; thankful for the privilege He's given me to invite others to come into our relationship; thankful for this truth for believers from 2 Corinthians 5:19-20 where it is written: "... God was in Christ, offering peace and forgiveness to the people of this world. And he has given us the work of sharing his message about peace. We were sent to speak for Christ, and God is begging you to listen to our message. We speak for Christ and sincerely ask you to make peace with God." (CEV); thankful to see sunlight streaming through the big window into my room; thankful for the sunshine in my heart - the peace that is given as Jesus comes into one's heart; thankful for this admonition from Romans 12:1-2 where it is written: "... I beg you, brothers and sisters, because of the great mercy God has shown us, offer your lives as a living sacrifice to Him—an offering that is only for God and pleasing to Him. Considering what He has done, it is only right that you should worship Him in this way. Don’t change yourselves to be like the people of this world, but let God change you inside with a new way of thinking. Then you will be able to understand and accept what God wants for you. You will be able to know what is good and pleasing to Him and what is perfect." (ERV); thankful as I anticipated a visit from our Pampered Feet nurse for a fine pedicure; thankful for our Father's long-suffering with my slowness to learn His ways; thankful as I read these words from 2 Samuel 7:21-22 where this is written: "Because of your promise and according to your will, you have done ... great things and have made them known to your [us]. How great you are, O Sovereign Lord! There is no one like you. We have never even heard of another God like you!" (NLT); thankful for the"measure of faith" that's been given to me; thankful for the all sufficient ministry of Jesus in my behalf; thankful to have these words from Psalm 19:14 in memory: "Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer." (KJV); thankful to know a D.D. in Colorado is safe after a wildfire required evacuation of all on the campus of Eden Valley (Praying the campus will be preserved to continue its work for the glory of God!); thankful that a D.S. is close to good medical care (and for the precious wife at his side); thankful to know this truth from Psalm 25:14-15 where we read: "There’s a private place reserved for the lovers of God, where they sit near Him and receive the revelation-secrets of His promises. Rescue me, Lord, for You’re my only hero." (TPT).
