Thanksgiving VI ~

10-16 November:  During this week, I have been thankful to know the sun is still shining  - no guarantees on how long it will be until clouds dissipate and I'll see it again, but grateful that it's always there, every day; thankful for being able to move about the house on my own two feet - not with any great agility, but I CAN move; thankful for the Creator God I worship, whose Word tells me: "We have seen that God All-Powerful really is all powerful! But He is just and never treats anyone unfairly. That is why people fear and respect Him. He shows no respect for those who think they are wise”(Job 37:23-24; ERV); thankful that the post-anesthesia aches quickly subsided; thankful for the sunshine breaks Sunday that allowed two half-mile walks outside between showers; thankful for the counsel that comes to us from 1 John 2:15-16 where we read: "Don’t fall in love with this corrupt world or worship the things it can offer. Those who love its corrupt ways don’t have the Father’s love living within them. All the things the world can offer to you—the allure of pleasure, the passion to have things, and the pompous sense of superiority—do not come from the Father. These are the rotten fruits of this world." (VOICE); thankful for another day of life; thankful to wake with a prayer in my heart - "may I be more like Jesus!"; thankful to share this prayer from Colossians 1:9-10 where it is written: :... We have not stopped praying for you. We ask: 'Father, may they clearly know Your will and achieve the height and depth of spiritual wisdom and understanding. 'May their lives be a credit to You, Lord; and what’s more, may they continue to delight You by doing every good work and growing in the true knowledge that comes from being close to You.'" (VOICE); thankful for another night of sound, restful sleep; thankful for all the "angels with skin" who minister in my life; thankful for the precious promise seen in Philippians 1:6 where we read: "I am confident that the Creator, who has begun such a great work among you, will not stop in mid-design but will keep perfecting you until the day Jesus the Anointed, our Liberating King, returns to redeem the world." (VOICE);  thankful for the sunlight filtering through the cuntains into my room; thankful for the message in Ann Voskamp's "One Thousand Gifts", on the multiple blessings of giving thanks; thankful to read this message from 1 Peter 3:16 where it is written: "The Anointed One suffered for sins once for all time—the righteous suffering for the unrighteous—so that He might bring us to God. Though He died in the flesh, He was made alive again through the Spirit." (VOICE); thankful there was no fee for the audiologist to tell me she can't do the hearing test because of the hard glob of wax that will need to be softened and removed first; thankful to be "His child" (John 1:12); thankful as I read these words in Revelation 21:6-7 which tell me: "It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. I will see to it that the thirsty drink freely from the fountain of the water of life. To the victors will go this inheritance: I will be their God, and they will be My children." (VOICE); thankful for another Sabbath - the day our Lord has chosen for His own since the Creation (Genesis 2:2-3; Mark 2:27-28; Isaiah 66:23);  thankful for the continuing ministry of Jesus - our Savior, our heavenly High Priest, and soon coming King of Kings; and I was thankful to echo the words of the psalmist's prayer from Psalm 119:17-19 where this is written: "Let me, your servant, walk in abundance of life that I may always live to obey your truth. Open my eyes to see the miracle-wonders hidden in your word. My life on earth is so brief, so tutor me in the ways of your wisdom." (TPT).
