2-8 April: This week I was thankful for Lee Venden and his beautiful message about God saying "Can't We Be Friends?" from a Youtube collection; for good effects of anti-inflammatory salve on the painful spots; thankful for the promise to all who are "[born
anew] into an inheritance which is imperishable [beyond the reach of
change] and undefiled and unfading, reserved in heaven for you, who are being protected and shielded by the power of God through your faith for salvation that is ready to be revealed [for you] in the last time"(1 Peter 1:4,5, AMP); for the continuing beneficial effect of the gift of the ginger-salve; for the sunshine gleaming on the floor; for this affirmation from continuing in 1 Peter 1:8,9 where we read: "Though you have not seen Him, you love Him; and though you do not even see Him now, you believe and trust in Him and you greatly rejoice and delight with inexpressible and glorious joy, receiving as the result [the outcome, the consummation] of your faith, the salvation of your souls" (AMP); I was thankful for the beauty of fresh (but quickly disappearing) snow on the evergreen trees outside; for the supply of delicious food from D.D.'s kitchen; and for the counsel, reading on, in 1 Peter 1:15,16 calling us to ". . . Be holy yourselves in all your conduct [be set apart from the world by your godly character and moral courage]; because it is written, 'You shall be holy (set apart), for I am holy'" (AMP);
(Ooops! can't get out of this all-caps font!) I was thankful for sunlight after yesterday's storm; for more of Lee Venden on Youtube; for the "rejoicings" messages from Luke 14:3-24; for the safe travel to shuttle the foster G.S. who's on his way from school in Utah to visit his dad in Puerto Rico; thankful there was no frost on the ground, thankful for this message from Colossians 3:13-15: "Be
tolerant with each other and, if someone has a complaint against
anyone, forgive each other. As the Lord forgave you, so also forgive
each other. And over all these things put on love, which is the perfect bond of unity. The peace of Christ must control your hearts—a peace into which you were called in one body. And be thankful people" (CEB); (Looks like the problem has resolved itself!) I was thankful for an "early to bed, early to rise" start to the day of travel; for the beauty of sunrise over Horsetooth Reservoir as we headed toward home; for the message of Amos 8:11 where we read “The time is coming when I
will send famine on the land. People will be hungry, but not for bread;
they will be thirsty, but not for water. They will hunger and thirst
for a message from the Lord. I, the Sovereign Lord, have spoken" (GNT) - I wonder if that time is now! I was thankful for the safe arrival of all the travelers in Twin Falls; for a tail-wagging greeting from Dandee; and thankful for the tender promise from Hosea 2:19,20 where we read "I will commit myself to you forever; I will commit myself to you in righteousness and justice, in steadfast love and tender compassion; I will commit myself to you in faithfulness; then you will acknowledge the Lord” (NET).
