Thanksgiving III ~

29 November-5 December:  This week I have been thankful for the beauty of rime encrusted trees as fog freezes to each twig; for phone calls from two friends - often thought of , but rarely seen; for Psalm 150:2,6: "Praise [God] for the mighty things he has done. Praise his supreme greatness. Praise the Lord, all living creatures! Praise the Lord!"  Grateful, too, for a Smart-phone emptied of personal data and ready to post on E-bay (new service provider in this place, new phone required); for critters now with up-to-date immunizations from a supplier and the resident R.N.; and for this counsel from Proverbs 1:20, 21, 23: "Listen! Wisdom is calling out in the streets and marketplaces, calling loudly at the city gates and wherever people come together: Listen when I reprimand you; I will give you good advice and share my knowledge with you"; for the promise in 1John1:9 -"If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness"; for anticipation of D.D.'s Christmas choir preforming Thursday evening this week; and for the Christmas promises, beginning with Isaiah 7:14: "Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel"; for victories promised and won; for the words of Romans 4:17: ". . . So the [promises are] good in the sight of God, in whom Abraham believed—the God who brings the dead to life and whose command brings into being what did not exist"; and for our Father's unfailing love for all His wayward children; for D.D.'s relocation of a borrowed container used more than a month ago to transfer items from my little freezer in Riggins to the freezer in this house; for the splendid red sky in this morning's sunrise; and for these words from Jeremiah 29:11-13: ". . . I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord. They are plans for good and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. In those days when you pray, I will listen. You will find me when you seek me, if you look for me in earnest"; for a D.S.I.L who is willing to drive me to the clinic for lab work; for the music we enjoyed at the Valley Singers concert in Kamiah Thursday evening; and for the truth of these words from Philippians 4:19: "And it is He who will supply all your needs from His riches in glory because of what Christ Jesus has done for us" (TLB); that a trip in a dark room didn't bring serious injury and I was able to get back on my feet without calling my S.I.L. for assistance; thankful for all the ways our Father has with which to bless and keep us; and for this assurance from 2 Samuel 22:3,4: "I will hide in God, Who is my rock and my refuge. He is my shield and my salvation, my refuge and high tower. Thank you, O my Savior, for saving me. . . ."
