Thanksgiving II ~

10-16 May 2015:  I am thankful  for the beautiful example of aging gracefully my mother provided during her mature years - never complaining, always with some helpful thing to do; for the mothers among my daughters and dear-daughters-in-law - you are greatly esteemed! And I am thankful for the grace given by my heavenly Father in adopting me as a daughter in His family; thankful  to be alive, to be breathing and to have brain cells kicking into gear with adequate speed; for the little dog that didn't take advantage of the front door and screen being inadvertently left ajar while D.D. was away and I was in my room; for the heavenly Father whose steadfast love and tender mercies cause Him to be seeking us in spite of our wrong-headed fear and distrust of Him (Jeremiah 31:3); for all the beauty that around me here in this river valley - tall, snow-topped mountains surrounding a pocket of greening trees and beautiful floral displays - it's glorious! Thankful, too, anticipating a volunteer day at our community's thrift shop in support of our "After School Kids" program; and for the strength the Creator provides for each day; to be anticipating a trip to McCall with my sis - Charlie's Garden, shopping, and lunch; for simple tasks that I can do as part of my home responsibilities; for family and friends, dear ones all and so much appreciated!  Thankful for yesterday's visit to Charlie's Garden - not a lot blooming yet, but a promise of much more to come; for the traveling mercies that have gone with us every time we leave home; for the reminder I found this morning as a fb friend had written quoting 2 Peter 1:4 - about our Father's ". . . exceeding great and precious promises. . . .";  thankful for how often I find, reading in Psalms, a call to gratitude and praise; for the multitude of blessings our Father has provided through the more than 75 years of my life; and for daily renewal of His grace and mercy for all - ". . . new every morning. . . ." Lamentations 3:23;  so thankful for another Sabbath morning, with plans to make our way to G'ville for study, praise, and worship with sisters and brothers there; thankful for the rain showers that freshen our world; and for the promise in Deuteronomy31:6 (last part): ". . . The Lord your God goes with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you."
