Thanksgiving II ~

17-23 May 2015:  This week I've been thankful for the beauty of mist-bands being chased up the surrounding mountains by (admittedly weak) sunshine; for blue skies through little spots in the clouds overhead; and for the assurance that there will be strength to bear the burden of the day - as well as a bright hope for tomorrow; for the delight of a telephone visit with my eldest son  - we need to do it more often; for the safe arrival of the resident D.D.after a weekend trip to the southland and back - always grateful for our traveling mercies; for the blessings of family nearby;  for dear-daughter's cheerful greeting as I entered the kitchen to get my hot-water/lemon-juice potion (that she had prepared for me); for Opie cat's friendly greeting as he's wandering over my keyboard; for a "plan b" re pain management after "plan a" hit a snag yesterday; for the blessing of effective medicine to control discomfort, to provide rest and relaxation; for the entertainment value of the little cat in my window sill - he doesn't really belong there, but has made himself at home behind the curtain; for the powerful anti-inflammatory effect of "plan B" - three doses and no pain pills needed (wish the so-called anti-inflammatory foods in my diet proved to be as effective!); thankful for sunlight outside my window this morning; for strength for the day; for another Sabbath, celebration of the Creator's efforts preparing the (still) beautiful world in which we live; for sleep that finally came after the clock passed 0300 - will definitely need a nap today; for thunder-showers that came last evening - and the sound-effects as they rolled through the hills around us - a noise the new dog doesn't like at all!
