Thanksgiving II ~
22-28 March: I've been thankful this week for sound sleep and and a new day; looking forward to the return of my
eldest daughter after an extended stay with her little sister in
Colorado; thankful for angel guardians as my daughters all were on the road in
route to respective homes (here, and in Colorado); for the freshly
watered appearance of the lawns after the rain in the night; for the
pony-pak of pansies my sister picked at Fiddle Creek - the few
blossoms showing are in apricot shades that will blend in with the
patio here; to be anticipating another day at the local thrift-shop supporting the
After-School-Kids program here in Riggins; for clearing skies above the
tops of the mountains in dawn's early light; for the daily choice of
gratitude and contentment over complaining; for hands that can successfully use kitchen tools - seems like there's
been one "ow-iee" after another this past month - but healing happens,
God be praised! I'm thankful for a good day at ETC. Tuesday - winter
hours can be very slow; and for the visit from the "home again" daughter
during the volunteer day; to be anticipating a helper for the heavy work of housekeeping in this
big house - even the rooms I use are bigger than the house I kept before
- so good to be getting my young friend's assistance; thankful for
transportation - with two appointments in McCall planned, no one
will be obliged to spend long hours of waiting for the other;
thankful for the amazing connectivity of this fb community that keeps me
in touch with loved ones far and near; for a neighbor's alert of a fireplace problem not seen from the inside
of the residence; for the electric supplement to the fireplace as a heat
source - not so cozy, but safe! I am thankful for the sparkling
clean house that came from my young friend's efforts yesterday; and I am thankful this morning for the weekly blessing of Sabbath - a
celebration of everything beautiful and good in the world in which we
live; for wholesome programs on the Hope Channel (#368 on DirectTV); and
for our local family to be together again after eldest daughter's
return - we'll be joining again for praise and worship together in our
"at home church" today - so grateful for this blessing!
