Thanksgiving II ~

15-21 March:  I've been thankful this week for the soft, new shoes I was given yesterday; for others who enjoyed a shared lunch (I won't be dining on leftovers all week!); and for a new day, looking forward to the surprises my heavenly Father has in store for me; for the promise to replace the burned-out lights in the bathroom and hall by the bedroom; for the message I heard on Habakkuk 2:4 and Romans 1:17 - a reminder that it is His "righteousness", not mine, that fits me for heaven (another expression of Pastor McCarty's ". . . while none of us will be saved by our obedience, we are saved for obedience, which involves allowing God to bring us as close to His ideal as possible . . . ." message); for the immediacy of the internet to transcribe thoughts to words of caring, of comfort; that the careless spill of my AM libation (hot lemon water) did no damage to my computer keyboard - lesson learned: thankful for nightly showers and clearing daytime skies; and I'm thankful that the ant hordes invading the kitchen here are not aggressive to those who are at war with them; for all the ". . . exceedingly great and precious promises. . . ." 2 Peter 1:4 I find in God's Word - and the assurance that His promises will be my guarantee of His life in me; that the One who made these promises is a faithful "promise keeper" - ". . . Indeed I have spoken it; I will also bring it to pass. I have purposed it; I will also do it" Isaiah 46:11; for the messages reminding me that it is the perfect right-standing of the Savior that that brings my salvation; for the beautiful example of "Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself" Philippians 2:3 seen in a morning post on fb; for being rested enough this morning in spite of wakefulness at bedtime; and thankful to be always in my Father's care; for the first day of spring (and the springtime weather we've been having here for weeks!); for the visit to the nursery with my sis this morning; anticipating a "Welcome to Spring" lunch this afternoon with her and the next door neighbor; to join others who are celebrating the Sabbath at the Creator's invitation; for confidence that our Father hears and answers the prayers that rise to Him in Jesus' name; for the old song,"Jesus Loves Me", and its message to all.
