Thanksgiving II ~
22-28 February: This week I have been thankful for sunlight on the hills above me; for Sonlight in my heart;
and for the gratitude and the peace that is heaven's blessing on all who
will trust in our Father's promises; for this day of life and the blessings of grace and mercy that are ". . .
new every morning"(Lamentations 3:23); for the kindness of the fellow
who keeps my woodbox filled and the indoors cozy; for all the ". . .
exceedingly great and precious promises. . . ." (2 Peter 1:4) that our
Father has shared in His Word; looking forward to a return to my volunteer position at ETC.
after a few weeks of leave due to the fuzzy thinking that followed the
CVA; thankful for the ease with which the verbal stumbling is resolving;
and very thankful for the continuing prayers of family and friends as
the progress toward wholeness is completed; for this precious promise (Ephesians 1:3-5): "Blessed be the God and
Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual
blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, 4 just as He chose us in Him
before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without
blame before Him in love, 5 having predestined us to adoption as sons by
Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will";
for planning a trip to Lewiston to pick up my new glasses (and with a
pleasant forecast!); for my first day back as volunteer and without too
much difficulty in the speech department! I am thankful for a delightful trip to Lewiston and back
with my sister - what glorious weather! Thankful, too, for my new
glasses - don't use them much, but Hope Channel viewing will be easier
to read when the small captions are in use; and I'm thankful to be
recovering from the gout attack in my wrist - praise to the Creator for
healing; for a good night of sleep; for the powerful machines that wash and dry
my duds; and the overnight fire that quickly springs to life with a
little stir in the morning; thankful to celebrate another Sabbath with the One who has invited us all to
enter His palace-in-time every week; for strength enough to complete the
duties of the day; and for the blessings that come fresh and new every
morning.
