Thanksgiving II ~

1-6 December 2014:  In these days I've been thankful for the Sabbath School lesson that reminded us to be cautious in our planning for the future, not to say "I'll be going/ doing . . . ." but "If the Lord wills, I shall go to this place, or I shall be . . . ." - for we have no guarantee on how long our lives shall last; for a visit from former landlords to discuss mutual expectations for the time I shall be - if the Lord wills - "house-sitting" for them and enjoying the company of their delightful cat; for the blessings of "enough"; for each new day of life, and the measure of health and strength that remains; for anticipation of another day at the little thrift store that helps with expenses at After School Kids; for the furry friends that share our home; for the music in my heart echoing hymns of from my devotional time; for the wisdom in the book of Proverbs - how little of human life has changed in the thousands of years since the wise words of King Solomon and others were penned, but the counsel is as valid today as it was when written; for windows that let light in and that expand my world; for the thousands upon thousands of miles my family and I have driven without serious accident or injury to ourselves or others; for the promises I find in Scripture and the musical reminder, "Every promise in the Book is mine, every chapter, every verse, every line . . . ."; for the warmth of love and affection shared among my family and friends as we work, fellowship, and play together; for blue sky and sunlight seen from my window; for the knowledge that - like the sunshine, which remains in overcasts and darkness - our heavenly Father is always "there" for us even when we can't "see" Him; for a week filled with blessing beyond measure; for the joy I feel to learn of JiLin's marriage and a new little son; for a dear daughter (and dear S.I.L. too!) safely returning from Boise in spite fog all the way to New Meadows and an unfamiliar new vehicle.
