My Year of Thanksgiving ~

26 October -1November:  This week I've been thankful for each new day, for showers of blessing and for golden mornings that have come with them; for the preservation of God's Word through the ages - its message continuing to do the work for which it was given to us; for the steadfast love and mercy poured out on us from our Father day by day, and for His overarching justice which assures us that one day all wrongs done to His own will be avenged by our righteous judge; for His beautiful promise of making Himself responsible for giving the new heart we all need (Ezekiel 36:26,27); for my new reading lamp installed in just the right spot; for opportunities to serve God through service to others; for miles upon miles traveled safely; for the beautiful testimony to the glories of God's law in Psalm 119; for mercies that are "new every morning" (Lamentations 3:22,23); for the flexibility (most days) of my retirement schedule; for the continuing support of family and friends; for blessings of life and health and strength that come day after day; for being able to take my sewing machine apart to remove a clog in the bobbin mechanism and put it all back together (after a half-hour search for an essential piece that had gone missing) so the project could be completed; for Bible references to the city being prepared by our heavenly Father for His people; for a Sabbath trip to G'ville for study, praise, and worship with our church family there; for all the blessings of the past week!
