My Year of Thanksgiving ~

This week I have given thanks for the message of Easter - "He is risen! He is risen indeed!"- and for the hope those words bring; for the fragrance and colors of the lilacs in bloom around my yard; for the lovely green of my freshly mowed lawn; for Dwight Nelson's three things for which to pray: 1. eyes to see those in need,  2. a heart of compassion for those in need,  3. arms willing to embrace those who hurt us, disappoint us, those who need our touch; for the beauty of the earth and all of creation in it; for lists, and their power to accomplish what I'm likely to put off 'til another day; for the strength and health remaining; for the fresh look of the yard after my sis has used the weed-eater on the margins; for energy to take care of the fig-tree trimmings; for the ability to see choice as the trump-card in the play of feelings and emotions.  I can choose to be thankful, choose to forgive,  choose to be content with what I have (Philippians 4:11); for promises that sins can be forgiven when I ask; for "little" rains to water plants in my garden; for the beautiful shades of green reappearing as the trees regain their foliage; for the quick, clear answer about the house being prepped for occupancy; for the blessing on yesterday's gathering with new friends; for traveling mercies shown as we drove to McCall for an appointment and shopping; for the beauty of Little Salmon River meanders before it turns and goes rollicking down the canyon; for hymns of praise and the ability to read the tunes I do not know; for the blessing of the Sabbath, the pause in the weekly round of activities that refreshes my spirit and promotes relationships with my heavenly Father and others of His children; for all those "whosoever" promises - for they surely include me; and for the multitude of blessings that grace my life.
