My Year of Thanksgiving ~
Last week I was thankful for signs of spring everywhere I look; for the blessed fellowship shared in G'ville Sabbath; for electronic resources and the speed with which they help me; for my sister and all she does to bring beauty into her world for others to enjoy - landscaping the grounds around my house, garden work, and community clean-up;for my first daffodil blossoms and vinca flowers popping open; for the fresh, bright color on robins returning from their wintering place; that other trustees were willing to turn up their volume so I would be able to hear their comments; for a ride home with a neighbor who attends most board meetings; for Evie's willingness to play chauffeur so often; for sound sleep and rest - a wonderful de-fragmentation for mind and spirit; for a "local" hardware store; for the gifts of lemons (lots of lemons!) for double-strength morning quaffs; for the wide variety of fruit available to us - even in winter; for the energetic ladies who lead out in our twice-a-week exercise class; for new hoses with (I hope) non-leaky connections; for my Bible - God's Word to us - preserved through centuries in spite of efforts to destroy it or discount its teachings; for ancient documents proving these are still the same Scriptures from which Jesus taught so many years ago; for this place where the four seasons are evident and for lessons about love, waiting, patience, and faithfulness that are to be found in their ebb and flow through the year; for the beauty of apricot trees in full bloom; that the smoke which wakened me at 0200 and kept me awake for a while did not have its origin in my house; for the sunlight that is warming my world; for www.hopetv.org/hopess at my convenience.
