My Year of Thanksgiving ~

This week's blessings include memories of Sabbath spent with brothers and sisters at Grangeville SDA Church, hearing Lee Venden's Do-It-Myself Religion message, the realization that some unanswered prayers have kept me searching rather than settling back in complacency -
I am thankful for the beautiful scarlet blossoms on the amaryllis in the kitchen window, for the dreams of summer gardens prompted by seed catalogs arriving daily in my post office box, for friends old and new gathered around a table of delicious food -
. . . for another day of sunshine, for energy to reorganize food storage in the fridge and) cupboards, and for a new attack plan for effective BP control -
. . . for the angel whisper reminding me of a  forgotten commitment (and the grace-filled response of my manager when I called to tell her I would be late); I am thankful for my sister's kind help in retrieving the keys I'd neglected to bring with me as I dashed out of the house; thankful too for Lucy (the neighbors' cat) as a part-time responsibility.  Don't want a pet of my own at this place in my life, but I thoroughly enjoy time spent with pets belonging to others!
. . . for simple recipes replacing common, but less than healthful food items (and for those whose kitchen experiments created those recipes), for generous friends, and for resources sufficient to pay the power-bill after a very cold month -
. . . for encouraging companions in the exercise class, snow that melts quickly away, gifts from the food bank via Evie, and for anticipation of a road trip in early spring -
. . . for the blessing of the Sabbath, the day the Lord claims as His own (Exodus 20:10, Mark 2:28); for freedom from the demands of everyday life; for live-streaming and archived videos which provide a wrship experience for even isolated believers.
