Thank You, God, for this new day - a day filled with promise (I'm anticipating good things from You, Lord!). Thank You for the blessings of the past week, Father - the health and strength remaining after the three score and ten years plus accumulated in my life, safety on the roads, days of sunshine, showers that moisten the earth and promote growth, blossoms appearing, the songs of birds filling the air - life is good!
I'm asking this morning that You fill my life with Your Spirit, Lord. Draw me close to You, give me thoughts and words, emotions and actions that reveal Your presence and Your great love for others in my life. O God, give me a passion for You, for Your Word, and for lost souls everywhere. Let me say, with David, ". . . I will teach . . . Your ways so that [others] will turn to You" (Psalm 51:13).
May Your people find unity in Your Spirit, Father - a unity drawn from focus rather than from compromise, a unity of purpose, of mission in glorifying You.
Holy Spirit, I pray that You will invade the lives of our children and their families. Instill in each of us, parents as well as children, a realization of the nearness of Jesus' return, the reality of judgement to come and of Your great grace which offers salvation to all who will receive it. Open our hearts to that grace, Lord. Fulfill Your promise (Isaiah 49:25) to save our children. Revive us, renew us that we may love others as You love us and do what You would do in each circumstance. These things I ask in the name above all names - for His sake ~
