23 February-1 March: In the past week, I was thankful for the music coming to me thru' my computer; thankful to still be alive in spite of several "chronic" illnesses; thankful as I read this from Isaiah 12:2 where it is written: "Listen! God is the one who saves me! I will continue to trust him. I will not be afraid because the Lord himself makes me strong. He keeps me safe...." (Easy English Bible); thankful that the tumble I experienced didn't cause any new fractures; thankful for EMTs and the "just around the corner" ER with a physician on site; thankful for the promise in Jeremiah 29:11-13 where this is written: "'I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, 'plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on Me and come and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. You will seek Me and find Me when you seek Me with all your heart.'" (New International Version); thankful D.D. has the skills to provide fresh dressings for my owie (thin skin results in skin tears, and I lost a silver-dollar sized patch on the back of my right hand); thankful that spring is nearer than a month away; thankful as I read this counsel from Proverbs 3:5-6 where it is written: "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths." (New King James Version); thankful for warm sunlight coming thru' my window; thankful in the anticipation of a trip to the city north of us; thankful for this affirmation from 1 John 4:9 where it is written: "This is how God showed His love among us: He sent His one and only Son into the world that we might live through Him." (New International Version); thankful for the orthopod's description of healed bones in my forearm and thumb as we saw images in his office; thankful that our travel was free from any bumps, dents, or any other damage from our carelessness or that of others on the road; thankful for the admonition in 1 John 3:18 where we read: "My little children, don’t just talk about love as an idea or a theory. Make it your true way of life, and live in the pattern of gracious love." (VOICE); thankful for friends who keep in touch thru' the years; thankful for family connections, siblings with their offspring, my own children and those they've added to the line, and in-laws with the niece and nephews they added; I'm SO glad to be part of the family of God - "... As many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name." (John 1:12; New King James Version); thankful to be able to celebrate a new Sabbath enjoying this precious time of worship and fellowship with the sisters and brothers in our Grangeville church via the internet connection; thankful for the strength our Father provides to meet the needs of each day; and I was thankful to trust the One who is my faithful guide, who - when I've wandered - finds me and restores me to His path “... He knows where I am going. And when He tests me, I will come out as pure as gold." (Job 23:10; New Living Translation).
