Thanksgiving XII ~

12-18  January: During this period, I was thankful for the strength in my right hand to manipulate the cursor (the cast came off last Monday); thankful for the songs with which the Father fills my heart; and I am thankful for this precious message from Isaiah 44:3: ". . . I will pour water on [one] who is thirsty, and streams on the dry ground. I will pour my Spirit on your descendants, and my blessing on your offspring." (World English Bible); thankful for the strength to use my walker - will take some effort for my legs to regain their strength after these weeks in the wheelchair, but I made a trip around the house yesterday and had no pain in my right wrist; thankful for answered prayers (and for many that are unanswered, that time has revealed may have been unwise!); thankful for these words from Isaiah 45:3-5: "... I have created you and cared for you since you were born. I will be your God through all your lifetime, yes, even when your hair is white with age. I made you and I will care for you. I will carry you along and be your Savior. With what in all of heaven and earth do I compare? Whom can you find who equals me? I am the Lord, and there is no other; there is no God besides Me." (The Living Bible); thankful for D.D. and the others who are helping me as I am trying to regain strength; thankful for the fair skies that are in the weather forecast;  thankful for the admonition in these words from 2 Corinthians 5:19-20: ". . . God was reconciling the world to Himself through Christ, by not counting people’s sins against them. He has trusted us with this message of reconciliation.  So we are ambassadors who represent Christ. God is negotiating with you through us. We beg you as Christ’s representatives, 'Be reconciled to God!'” (Common English Bible); thankful for the warm sunshine coming thru' my sitting-room window; thankful for health care available up the hill and just around the corner when needed; thankful for the freedom Jesus promised in John 8:31-32 where this is written: "...`If you obey my word, you are truly my disciples. And you will understand the truth and the truth will make you free.'" (Worldwide English); thankful for the "good news" of the gospel - God SO loved the world that He agreed to allow Jesus the difficult privilege of coming down to to earth to save us sinners; thankful to know Jesus as my personal Savior; and thankful for these words from 1 Peter 1:3-5: "May the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ be blessed! On account of His vast mercy, He has given us new birth. You have been born anew into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. You have a pure and enduring inheritance that cannot perish—an inheritance that is presently kept safe in heaven for you. Through His faithfulness, you are guarded by God’s power so that you can receive the salvation He is ready to reveal in the last time" (Common English Bible);

thankful to have the words of a little scripture song running through my brain - "The fruit of the Spirit is love - joy, peace, long-suffering . . . ." - a beautiful way to start the morning; thankful that all my systems are up and running; and thankful, too, for the wise counsel found in Philippians 2:14-16: "Do everything without grumbling and arguing so that you may be blameless and pure, innocent children of God surrounded by people who are crooked and corrupt. Among these people you shine like stars in the world because you hold on to the word of life . . . ." (Common English Bible);
