16-22 July: This past week, I have been thankful to recognize my position as a daughter of the King of all creation - what a blessing! I was thankful for strength to do do a bit of home-style physical therapy using the barre D.S.I.L. installed for his mom; thankful for the affirmation in Colossians 2:9-10 where we read: "... The entire fullness of God’s nature dwells bodily in Christ, and you have been filled by Him, who is the head over every ruler and authority." (Holman Christian Standard Bible); thankful to know a mighty God who is able to change hearts and change lives; thankful for the peace, the love, the grace He's brought into MY life; thankful to know the truth of these words from Romans 1:16 where we read: ". . . I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes. . . ." (New King James Version); thankful for another day of life - that my brain is busy with thoughts and plans, that all my limbs are moving; thankful to be living in this beautiful place; thankful that the counsel in the Word is still "profitable for instruction, for reproof and conviction of sin, for correction of error and discipline in obedience, [and] for training in righteousness (in holy living, in conformity to God’s will in thought, purpose, and action)” (2 Timothy 3:16, Amplified Version); thankful for the warmth of the sunlight as it reaches my window - don't need to hide from the summer sun up here on the prairie; thankful that D.D. is safely home again after a long week-end visiting with a far-away daughter and her family; thankful as I re-read this promise, daily claimed for myself and others, from Isaiah 41:10 where it is written: "Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be afraid, for I am your God. I will strengthen you; I will help you; I will hold on to you with My righteous right hand." (Holman's Christian Standard Bible); thankful for another day and the bountiful supply of blessings that come with it; thankful for the electric hot-water pot that makes my morning libation quick work - even faster than I can extract the juice from my lemon; thankful for these words from Psalm 19:14: "Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight, O Lord, my [firm, impenetrable] Rock and my Redeemer." (Amplified Bible); thankful for the sunshine at my window - what a delight! I was thankful for this preparation time to ready up for Sabbath tomorrow; thankful to find this prayer recorded in Psalm 119:29-31: "Keep me far from every wrong; help me, undeserving as I am, to obey your laws, for I have chosen to do right. I cling to your commands and follow them as closely as I can. Lord, don’t let me make a mess of things." (The Living Bible); thankful for a beautiful new Sabbath morning and for the presentations available to me via the internet - on Hope Chanel and 3ABN as well as many other venues; thankful for a wonderful interactive Bible study on the message of justification - the way we are given a "not guilty" verdict before God - by faith alone; and I was thankful for this reminder from the words of Paul in Galatians 2:20 where we read: "I have been crucified with Christ [that is, in Him I have shared His crucifixion]; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body I live by faith [by adhering to, relying on, and completely trusting] in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me." (Amplified Bible).
