Thanksgiving IX ~

2-8 October:  In the past week, I was thankful to have my sister with me most of the week along with a dear son and his wife over the weekend (and wishing all a safe journey home); I was thankful to be wishing another "Happy Birthday!" to eldest D.D.; thankful for these words from Psalm 103:5 as they tell of the Creator who: "When your soul is famished and withering, He fills you with good and beautiful things, satisfying you as long as you live. He makes you strong like an eagle, restoring your youth." (VOICE); thankful for each new day of life, and the choice in it to glorify my Creator; thankful to get a glimpse of His holiness as I peruse His Word; thankful to read this cautionary note from Proverbs 27:1 where it is written: "Don’t brag about what may happen tomorrow because you have no idea what it will bring." (VOICE); thankful for the promises given in God's Word - promises to ALL, to all believers;  thankful that this day began with a beautiful sunrise; thankful for this message from Isaiah 55:6-7: "Seek God while He’s here to be found, pray to Him while He’s close at hand. Let the wicked abandon their way of life and the evil their way of thinking. Let them come back to God, who is merciful, come back to our God, who is lavish with forgiveness." (MSG); thankful for my six children and their families - all so dear to me; thankful for the commandments and counsel that are found in God's Word; thankful for this message from Isaiah 26:3-4 where it is written: "People with their minds set on you, You keep completely whole, steady on their feet, because they keep at it and don’t quit. Depend on God and keep at it because in the Lord God you have a sure thing." (MSG); thankful for "Life Affirmations from Scripture", a follow-up for Shelley Quinn's ''Exalting His Word" with more faith-building affirmations; thankful for the covenant relationship our Father has established for His people (Genesis 17:7; Galatians 3:29; ch. 4:6); and I am thankful for this promise: "The Lord has appeared of old to me, saying: 'Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore with lovingkindness I have drawn you'" (Jeremiah 31:3; New King James Version); thankful to know that He who has started a good work in me will complete it (Philippians 1:6); thankful for all the wonderful "I will ...." promises in God's Word; and I was thankful for this affirmation from Isaiah 43:11-12 where it is written: " I, I am the Eternal; there is no Savior except for Me, I alone told that this victory would happen. Then I saved you and made it known. No other god worked among you—You know the truth. You can testify that it is so; as I declare, I alone am God." (VOICE).
