15-21 May: During the past week, I have been thankful for the assurance that our heavenly Father cares for each of His children here on earth and longs for us to know Him, to live for Him (2 Peter 3:9); thankful as I watch colorful leaf buds on the Horse-chestnut Tree outside my window unfolding into little green leaves and knowing the beautiful white flower-spikes are close behind; thankful for the mystery spoken of in Ecclesiastes 11:5 where this is written: "You can no more predict the path of the wind than you can explain how a child’s bones are formed in a mother’s womb. Even more, you will never understand the workings of the God who made all things." (VOICE); thankful to learn some good news about a son and a grandson-in-law who are in hospitals with yet unidentified problems; thankful to know of the Great Physician who hears our prayers on behalf of those who are ill; thankful as I consider these words from Jeremiah 33:6 where we read: "Behold, I will bring it health and healing; I will heal them and reveal to them the abundance of peace and truth." (NKJV); thankful that the relatives who were hospitalized are now recuperating at home; thankful for the help I receive every day and the delightful people who provide the help; thankful as I consider this affirmation from Romans 11:33-34 where it is written: "We cannot wrap our minds around God’s wisdom and knowledge! Its depths can never be measured! We cannot understand His judgments or explain the mysterious ways that He works! For, who can fathom the mind of the Lord? Or who can claim to be His advisor?" (VOICE); thankful to be back on-line after the glitch resulting from what was thought to be the change over to 5gig system in the city north of us - nothing was working yesterday and thru' the night! I was thankful for all the avian species coming to the feeders outside my window - Goldfinches, House and Cassin's Finches, Pine Siskins, Evening and Black-headed Grosbeaks are dining in fine style; thankful as I consider this affirmation from Zephaniah 3:17 where it is written: "... The Lord your God is living among you. He is a mighty savior. He will take delight in you with gladness. With His love, He will calm all your fears. He will rejoice over you with joyful songs.” (New Living Translation); thankful for the presence of a D.S. to join the family celebration of my completion of another trip around our star; thankful for all the birthday greetings on my computer screen this morning; thankful to read this promise from Isaiah 46:3-4 where it is written: “ 'Listen to Me,. [says the Lord], ... you who have been carried by Me from your birth and have been carried [in My arms] from the womb, even to your old age I am He, and even to your advanced old age I will carry you! I have made you, and I will carry you; be assured I will carry you and I will save you." (Amplified Bible); thankful to FEEL no older than I felt before the numbers pushed ahead; thankful for the strength the Creator provides day-after-day as my life goes on; thankful as I contemplate this thought from Romans 15:5-6 where it is written: "May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you the same attitude of mind toward each other that Christ Jesus had, so that with one mind and one voice you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ." (New International Version); thankful, finally, to create the day's post of thanks (fb was exceptionally uncooperative at earlier attempts); thankful to have access to the web with my 'phone for programs via Hope TV and 3ABN worship services; and I was thankful for this affirmation from Isaiah 56:6-7 where the God of heaven says: "... The foreigners who join themselves to the Lord, to minister to Him, to love the name of the Lord, and to be His servants, every one who keeps the sabbath, and does not profane it, and holds fast My covenant—these I will bring to My holy mountain, and make them joyful in My house of prayer; ... My house shall be called a house of prayer for all peoples." (Revised Standard Version).
