Thanksgiving VII ~

1-7 November:  During the past week, I was thankful to be back on Standard Time for several reasons, but one of those reasons is NOT having daylight gone in the afternoon (SO thankful I don't live any farther north!); thankful for God's promise that the seasons will continue as long as this old earth remains (Genesis 8:22); thankful to read the apostle's prayer from Ephesians 1:17-18 where it is written: "God of our Lord Jesus the Anointed, Father of Glory: I call out to You on behalf of Your people. Give them minds ready to receive wisdom and revelation so they will truly know You. Open the eyes of their hearts, and let the light of Your truth flood in. Shine Your light on the hope You are calling them to embrace. Reveal to them the glorious riches You are preparing as their inheritance." (VOICE); thankful for sleep and rest through the night hours and for the Creator's gift that allows mental de-fragging; thankful for the warm/sweater weather that is in the forecast; thankful to read this affirmation from 1 Peter 2:9 where it is written: "... You are a chosen group of people. You are the King’s religious leaders. You are a holy nation. You belong to God. He has done this for you so you can tell others how God has called you out of darkness into His great light." (NLV); thankful for the U.S. Constitution and its preservation of liberty to choose how and where (and even IF!) one will worship; thankful to be able to go the local polling place and cast my vote for those that - in my mind - are best qualified; thankful this admonition from Romans 13:1-2 where it is written: "Every person must be subject to the ruling authorities. There is no authority, you see, except from God, and those that exist have been put in place by God. As a result, anyone who rebels against authority is resisting what God has set up, and those who resist will bring judgment on themselves." (NTE); thankful to know that whatever the result of the election, the words from Daniel 2:21 remain true; thankful that our Creator has intimate knowledge of each one, right down to the number of hairs on our heads (Matthew 10:30); thankful as I read this promise from Revelation 21:6-7 where it is written: "It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. I will see to it that the thirsty drink freely from the fountain of the water of life. To the victors will go this inheritance: I will be their God, and they will be My children." (VOICE); thankful for the Savior's assurance that He will NEVER leave us nor forsake us (Hebrews 13:5) 'though giving us the freedom to choose Him - or to leave Him; thankful for ALL His "exceeding great and precious promises" (2 Peter 1:4); thankful to read the words from Romans 13:7-8 where this is written: "Pay to everyone what is due them—tribute to whom tribute is due; tax to whom tax is due; respect to whom respect is due; honor to whom honor is due. Owe no one anything except to love one another, for the one who loves another has fulfilled the [Law]." (TLV); thankful for memories of a visit to a spot along the Colorado River, enjoying our Creator's beautiful handiwork at Willow Beach; thankful for the little housekeeping angel who does so much to assist with things necessary in our home; thankful to read this affirmation from Ephesians 1:9-10 where it is written: "[God] has enlightened us to the great mystery at the center of His will. With immense pleasure, He laid out His intentions through Jesus, a plan that will climax when the time is right as He returns to create order and unity—both in heaven and on earth—when all things are brought together under the Anointed’s royal rule in Him." (VOICE);

thankful to be celebrating a new Sabbath in praise and worship, prayer and study, with fellowship in my church family; thankful for my assurance of salvation in Jesus; and thankful to share this prayer from  1 Timothy 2:1-2 where it is written: "... I urge God’s people to pray. They should make their requests, petitions, and thanksgivings on behalf of all humanity. Teach them to pray for kings (or anyone in high places for that matter) so that we can lead quiet, peaceful lives—reverent, godly, and holy—" (VOICE).
