Thanksgiving VII and Thanksgiving VIII ~

22-28 November:  During the past week, I have been thankful for all the "exceeding great and precious promises" (2 Peter 1:4) our Father provides to us in His Word; thankful as I read again the words of Jesus - "I will come again ...." - in John 14:2-3; thankful for this admonition from Colossians 3:15 where it is written: "Let your hearts fall under the rule of the Anointed’s peace (the peace you were called to as one body), and be thankful." (VOICE); thankful to know that above the circle of earth our heavenly Father sits enthroned - all is open to His eyes and He allows only the things that are for our ultimate good to happen (Do you trust Him?); thankful that another year of these posts is nearly completed - number VIII shall begin, Lord willing, on Thursday; thankful for this reminder from Psalm 100:4-5 where it is written: "Enter His gates with thanksgiving, and His courtyards with praise. Give thanks to Him, bless His name. For the Lord is good; His mercy is everlasting and His faithfulness is to all generations." (NASB); thankful for real music - music that lifts ones spirit heavenward - remembering our ladies trio at Eden Valley (during my stay there after cancer surgery) singing "Count Your Blessings" with Mary Cherne at the piano; thankful for the lovely piano music with which my father filed our lives during our growing up years, could never understand other's attraction to the jangle of what was called "music" in the "rock'n'roll" era and since; thankful for these words from Colossians 2:6-7 where we read: "Now that you have welcomed the Anointed One, Jesus the Lord, into your lives, continue to journey with Him and allow Him to shape your lives. Let your roots grow down deeply in Him, and let Him build you up on a firm foundation. Be strong in the faith, just as you were taught, and always spill over with thankfulness." (VOICE); thankful to send a big HAPPY BIRTHDAY! to my youngest - the twins (a big surprise of doubles on an earlier than planned date!); thankful today to complete year seven in this "Thanksgiving ...." series - will continue as long as I have breath and the connection between brain and fingers remains intact; thankful to share this admonition from Colossians 3:17 where it is written: "Surely, no matter what you are doing (speaking, writing, or working), do it all in the name of Jesus our Master, sending thanks through Him to God our Father." (VOICE); thankful to begin a NEW season of thanks, the eighth year of these "Thanksgiving ...." posts, all praise to God who keeps me going!   I was thankful for the praise patterns in the Book of Psalms; thankful to read these words from Hebrews 12:28 where they are written: "... Let us all be thankful that we are a part of an unshakable Kingdom and offer to God worship that pleases Him and reflects the awe and reverence we have toward Him." (VOICE); thankful for phone and video connections with family and friends - certainly better than missing the usual holiday gathering entirely!  I was thankful, too, for the years of blessings that have been mine as I've watched my children grow and mature into the individuals they are at present; thankful for this message from Colossians 3:16 where it is written: "Let the word of the Anointed One richly inhabit your lives. With all wisdom teach, counsel, and instruct one another. Sing the psalms, compose hymns and songs inspired by the Spirit, and keep on singing—sing to God from hearts full and spilling over with thankfulness." (VOICE); thankful that the Sabbath hours do not come to a stop because the Corona virus numbers are surging again - thankful, too, for the programs shared by IIW.tv, HOPE.channel, and 3ABN; thankful for the messages of hope in God's Word, the Holy Bible; and especially thankful for these words from Psalm 91:5-6 where we read: "You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, nor of the arrow that flies by day, nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday." (NKJV).
