Thanksgiving VII ~

9-15 August:  During the past week, I have been thankful for a day trip with two D.D.s to touch bases with a D.S. and D.D.I.L.; thankful for blue skies and sunlight above for the drive; thankful to read these words of Jesus recorded in Luke 12:6-7 where they are written: "Are not five sparrows sold for two copper coins? Yet not one of them has [ever] been forgotten in the presence of God. Indeed the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Do not be afraid; you are far more valuable than many sparrows." (AMP); thankful for the prayer circles we can make among our families and friends to pray for each other - as well as following the counsel of Jesus to pray for those who don't have our best interests at heart; thankful for God's blessings that are poured out on us with each new day; thankful for these words from Psalm 46:1-2: "God is our refuge and strength, a help in distresses, very readily found. Therefore will we not fear though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the heart of the seas." (DARBY); thankful for the healthy food being offered at the local Seniors' Lunch (and that the location is near-by!); thankful that this community is one that has all the businesses I use within my walking distance; thankful for this thought from Psalm 119:14 where it is written: "I find more joy in following what you tell me to do than in chasing after all the wealth of the world." (TPT); thankful for the different USB cable that allows me to use my phone when it is being charged (thanx to a D.D.!); thankful for an understanding that heart emptiness does not equal the Father's absence; thankful for this admonition from 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 where it is written: "Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is within you, whom you have [received as a gift] from God, and that you are not your own [property]? You were bought with a price [you were actually purchased with the precious blood of Jesus and made His own]. So then, honor and glorify God with your body." (AMP); thankful for another new day of life in this, my eighty-second trip around the sun; thankful for the health that remains - no "readers" required, surgeries all healed, ambulating on even surfaces without assistive devices - ALL praise to God! I was thankful for this affirmation from Ephesians 2:10 where it is written: "For we are the product of His hand, heaven’s poetry etched on lives, created in the Anointed, Jesus, to accomplish the good works God arranged long ago." (VOICE); thankful to hear the washer busily humming across the hall - no need to tote clothes to a laundromat; thankful for the Bible promise that I can be made "whiter than snow" (Isaiah 1:18); thankful for this admonition from Revelation 3:19-20 where it is written: "Those whom I [dearly and tenderly] love, I rebuke and discipline [showing them their faults and instructing them]; so be enthusiastic and repent [change your inner self—your old way of thinking, your sinful behavior—seek God’s will]. Behold, I stand at the door  [of your hearts] and continually knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in...." (AMP);  thankful to have the little devices that fit in my ears and allow me to hear more of what's happening around me; thankful that my vision is good - only need correction when viewing a screen farther away (the big TV on the wall in the living room); and thankful to the Creator "... Who put me together inside my mother’s body, and I praise You because of the wonderful way You created me. Everything You do is marvelous! Of this I have no doubt." (Psalm 139:13-14; CEV).
