Thanksgiving VII ~
12-18 July: Through the past week, I was thankful for the past day's glorious Sabbath, filled with beauty that delighted my
eyes and heart; thankful for food, clothing, and shelter from the
summer sun; thankful for promises of a forever future with our
Father, in a place where sin, sorrow, sickness, and death are eternally
banished from our lives; thankful for traveling mercies that accompanied us as we drove to the
big town north of us for shopping AND visiting without any bumps or
bangs, no crashes either; thankful for sunshine, always makes my
heart feel good; thankful for this promise of a day coming soon
"... When His name is called, every knee will bow, in heaven, on earth,
and below. And every tongue will confess 'Jesus, the Anointed One, is
Lord,' to the glory of God our Father!" (Philippians 2:10-11; VOICE); thankful D.D.'s companion/helper is with us - a dear young woman who
also helps me a couple of hours each week; thankful be able to walk
down to the local seniors' weekly lunch, instead of having lunch
delivered; thankful for the words of Jesus recorded in John's
gospel: “I love each of you with the same love that the Father loves me.
You must continually let my love nourish your hearts. If you keep my
commands, you will live in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s
commands, for I continually live nourished and empowered by his love."
(John15:10-11; TPT); thankful for a "first time" visit with local seniors for the weekly
communal meal (it has, like many things, been on hold due to Covid-19)
which I'd been receiving at home; thankful for a heart that trusts
the promises our Father gives us in His Word; thankful for this
message that is found in James 1:19-20 where we read: "Human anger is a
futile exercise that will never produce God’s kind of justice in this
world. So walk out on your corrupt liaison with smut and depraved
living, and humbly welcome the word of truth that will blossom like the
seed of salvation planted in your souls." (VOICE); thankful for the eternity the Creator placed in my heart (Ecclesiastes
3:11) - a desire for all the life He offers; thankful for His promise
of strength to LIVE that life; thankful to read these words
from Colossians 2:9-10 where we read: "... All that is God, all His
fullness, resides in His body. You, too, are being completed in Him,
the One who has dominion over all rule, all authority." (VOICE); thankful for the promise of a new heart (Jeremiah 31:33; Ezekiel 11:19;
ch. 36:26); thankful for the bountiful crop of greens in my
Gro-boxes on the patio; thankful for this message from Romans
1:16 where it is written: "I refuse to be ashamed of sharing the
wonderful message of God’s liberating power unleashed in us through
Christ! For I am thrilled to preach that everyone who believes is
saved—the Jew first, and then people everywhere!" (TPT); so thankful to see another Sabbath dawn - anticipating GOOD things from
You,LORD! I was thankful for the many "I will ...." promises that are
given in God's Word to meet needs in our lives; and I was thankful for the
message in Exodus 20:11 (cf Genesis 2:2-3) where it is written: "...
In six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in
them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the Lord blessed the
sabbath day, and hallowed it." (KJV).
