Thanksgiving VII ~

21-27 June:  During the past week, I have been thankful for the Creator;s promise in Genesis 8:22 where He said that while the earth remains, seed time and harvest, summer and winter will not fail; I was thankful for access to https://www.uccsda.org/lee-venden for his "all about Jesus" focus;  thankful for THIS promise from Psalm 91 - "You who sit down in the High God’s presence, spend the night in Shaddai’s shadow, say this: 'God, you’re my refuge. I trust in you and I’m safe!' That’s right—He rescues you from hidden traps, shields you from deadly hazards. His huge outstretched arms protect you—under them you’re perfectly safe; His arms fend off all harm." (Verses 1-2; MESSAGE); thankful to know I am a daughter of the King, who loves me and gave up His life that I - tho' undeserving - might live; thankful that although He experienced death, the tomb that held Him for three days is now empty, I serve a risen Savior who's coming again, soon; thankful for the assurance of these words from Psalm 121:7-8: "He keeps you from all evil and preserves your life. He keeps His eye upon you as you come and go and always guards you." (TLB); thankful for summer-y blue skies with not a cloud in sight; thankful for the beet thinnings waiting in the fridge - part of dinner for the day; thankful for this promise from Isaiah 40:30-31 where we read: "Young people will get tired; strapping young men will stumble and fall. But those who trust in the Eternal One will regain their strength. They will soar on wings as eagles. They will run—never winded, never weary. They will walk—never tired, never faint." (VOICE);  thankful for blessings "new every morning", blessings like the automaticity of heartbeats and breathing, the delicious summer fruits available to me, a roof over my head and garments to cover me - and so much more: thankful for enough - enough of all I need, and some to share! I was thankful to read these words from Isaiah 40:25-26: "The Holy One asks, 'Do you really think you can find someone or something to compare to Me? My equal?' Look at the myriad of stars and constellations above you. Who set them to burning, each in its place? Who knows those countless lights each by name? They obediently shine, each in its place, because God has the great strength and strong power to make it so." (VOICE);  thankful to get word that an item I'd posted the day before was incomplete (and I was able to correct it); thankful for fresh air and warmer temperatures; thankful to know that our God is aware of attempts to deceive, to cause pain - for in Jeremiah 23:23-24 He says: "Am I only a God who is close by, and not a God of the farthest reaches? Am I a God anyone can hide from? Do I not see what happens in secret? Am I not everywhere, filling heaven and earth?" (VOICE); thankful to have a new, fresh attitude of gratitude for this day; thankful to know our Father calls us ALL to listen for His promptings to prayer and praise; thankful again for yesterday's promise from Jeremiah 23:23-24 - this time from the Easy-to-Read Version : ". . . 'I am God, and I am always near. I am not far away. Someone might try to hide from me in some hiding place. But it is easy for me to see that person,' says the Lord, 'because I am everywhere in heaven and earth.'” (ERV); thankful for another beautiful Sabbath morning - sunshine washing me with promises that summer is here; thankful for the repeated assurances that our prayers are heard (1 Kings 9:3; Proverbs 15:29; Acts 10:31; and 1 John 5:14 - among many); and I am thankful for these words from Jeremiah 24:6-7 where we read: ". . . I will set My eyes on them for good, and I will bring them back...; I will build them and not pull them down, and I will plant them and not pluck them up. Then I will give them a heart to know Me, that I am the Lord; and they shall be My people, and I will be their God, for they shall return to Me with their whole heart." (NKJV).
