Thanksgiving VII ~

22-28 March:  This week, I have been thankful for the little device which let's me keep up with my daily "Thanksgiving ...." posts when my computer seems to be adversely affected by the increased traffic on the Internet; thankful for all the beauty of the Creator's work that remains for us to enjoy today; thankful, again, to share with you the Bible Gateway site where you can find a verse for each day; thankful for a renewed internet connection from my desktop computer; thankful for our Father's promise that He will complete what He has started in us; thankful for this assurance from the Word: "Every Scripture is God-breathed (given by His inspiration) and profitable for instruction, for reproof and conviction of sin, for correction of error and discipline in obedience, [and] for training in righteousness (in holy living, in conformity to God’s will in thought, purpose, and action)," (2 Timothy 3:16; AMPC); thankful for rest when sleep is disturbed (rest, along with an interesting travelogue to while away the hours!); thankful for the instruction in 1 Peter 5:7 to cast ALL our concerns on the One who so deeply cares for us; thankful for the assurance of Romans 6:23 where it is written: "The payoff for a life of sin is death, but God is offering us a free gift—eternal life through our Lord Jesus, the Anointed One, the Liberating King." (VOICE);  thankful - so thankful for another day of life with all systems working adequately; thankful to have shelter from storms that blow (literal AND figurative!); thankful for the assurance found in 1 John 1:8-9 where it is written: "If we claim not to have sin, we are deceiving ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we acknowledge our sins, then, since He is trustworthy and just, He will forgive them and purify us from all wrongdoing." (CJB); thankful for the inspired colors of the sunrise I see from my window; thankful that my headset can be replaced with miniature speakers not needing to be recharged; thankful for this counsel from Philippians 1:27, 29-30 where it is written: "Meanwhile, live in such a way that you are a credit to the Message of Christ. There’s far more to this life than trusting in Christ. There’s also suffering for Him. And the suffering is as much a gift as the trusting. You’re involved in the same kind of struggle you saw me go through...." (MSG);  thankful to be able to read and to understand the message of God's Word - not every passage is easy, but its overall message is clear, God loves His children and longs to restore us to Himself;  thankful for good books (and have just finished one I've heard about half my life, but never read before, William Least Heat Moon's "Blue Highways"); thankful to be able to share these words from Psalm 62:7 where we read: "On God my salvation and my glory rest; He is my rock of [unyielding] strength, my refuge is in God." (AMP); thankful to rouse for a new Sabbath day, the time the Creator gave us to spend time with Him and with loved ones in the beautiful world He had made - a day of appreciation; thankful to know a church is its people - not a building, it can exist where there are only two or three gathered for worship; and I was thankful for this affirmation from 1 Timothy 2:5-6 where it is written: "... There is one God and one Mediator between God and us—the man Jesus, God’s Anointed, who gave His life as a ransom for all so that we might have freedom." (VOICE).
