Thanksgiving VII ~

8-14 March:  Through this past week I have been thankful to see the fresh, new (and THIN!) coat of new of new snow outside - it always reminds me of Psalm 147:16 and Isaiah 1:16; thankful for DST's extended hours of evening light; thankful for the purpose for us revealed in 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 where it is written: "All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is our merciful Father and the source of all comfort. He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us." (NLT); thankful that there is a reality beyond that which my eyes perceive: I AM a daughter of the King of Kings - John 1:12-13; I HAVE a home in His house - John 14:1-3; His discipline yields fruit IF I am willing - Hebrews 12:11; trials come ONLY for my best good - and for His glory, revealing the truth about who He is - Hebrews 12:10; I am loved, cherished - Isaiah 43:4; this world is NOT my HOME - Isaiah 65:17-25; Revelation 21 and 22:1-5; thankful for the firm (GOD WILLING!) plans to visit my sister this summer; thankful that passport photos can be done by a local photographer at less cost than at the post office; thankful for this counsel from 1 Peter 3:14-16 where it is written: "Even if you should suffer for doing what is right, you will receive a blessing. Don’t let them frighten you. Don’t be intimidated, but exalt Him as Lord in your heart. Always be ready to offer a defense, humbly and respectfully, when someone asks why you live in hope. Keep your conscience clear so that those who ridicule your good conduct in the Anointed and say bad things about you will be put to shame." (VOICE); thankful to be watching the colors of sunrise that fill the sky outdoors; thankful for the memories of my Mamaw (Mabel Fleming Magee, my mom's mother) her kind and gentle spirit, her examples of doing for others even when un-well, her deep Bible study and the marked Bible I have that shows how deep that study was; thankful for this message from Deuteronomy 7:9 where it is written: "Know, recognize, and understand therefore that the Lord your God, He is God, the faithful God, Who keeps covenant and steadfast love and mercy with those who love Him and keep His commandments, to a thousand generations." (AMPC); thankful for my families - the one into which I was born, that which I joined when I married, all my six children, their spouses and the families THEY have created - to the fourth generation (to say nothing of the "brothers and sisters" with whom there is no connection other then a kindred spirit!); thankful for regaining a measure of health after illness; thankful for the message found in 2 Peter 1:3-4 where we read: "Everything we could ever need for life and complete devotion to God has already been deposited in us by his divine power. For all this was lavished upon us through the rich experience of knowing Him who has called us by name and invited us to come to Him through a glorious manifestation of His goodness. As a result of this, He has given you magnificent promises that are beyond all price, so that through the power of these tremendous promises you can experience partnership with the divine nature, by which you have escaped the corrupt desires that are of the world." (TPT); thankful for the mercies that daily surround us; thankful for the anticipation of Sabbath hours; thankful for this affirmation in Romans 8:27-28 where we read: "... He Who searches [our] hearts ,,, knows what is in the mind of the [Holy] Spirit [what His intent is], because the Spirit intercedes and pleads [before God] in behalf of the saints according to and in harmony with God’s will. We are assured and know that [God being a partner in their labor] all things work together and are [fitting into a plan] for good to and for those who love God and are called according to [His] design and purpose." (AMPC); ~ (from my phone) I was thankful for a new Sabbath with the opportunity to come, with family and friends, to worship and praise our Creator on the day He chose; thankful my phone can let me access my Facebook account; and I was thankful to refer you to biblegateway.com for a "verse of the day" - a challenge for me to incorporate on THIS post!
