Thanksgiving VI ~
2-8 June: During the week, I have been thankful for a weather forecast predicting a week of sunshine, thankful for weather warm enough to don my Bermuda shorts instead of long pants; thankful as I recall this promise from Hebrews 9:27-28 where it is written: "... Just as it is appointed for [all] men once to die, and after that the [certain] judgment, even so it is that Christ, having been offered to take upon Himself and bear as a burden the sins of many once and once for all, will appear a second time, not to carry any burden of sin nor to deal with sin, but to bring to full salvation those who are [eagerly, constantly, and patiently] waiting for and expecting Him." (AMPC); thankful to see bright sunlight flooding into my window through the leaves of the big tree that offers cool shade in the heat of the day; thankful to know that I am a daughter of the Most High God (John 1:12); thankful to have learned the truth stated in this message from Proverbs 15:1 where it is written: "A soft answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger." (RSV); thankful to know there is a great Intelligence working in the design and operation of our planet; thankful there's no danger that the northward drift of our star will continue beyond the limits the Creator has set for it - He has promised, "As long as the earth continues, there will always be a time for planting and a time for harvest. There will always be cold and hot, summer and winter, day and night on earth” (Genesis 8:22; ERV); thankful for the message in His Word that tells us this Intelligence is LOVE (1John 4:8); thankful for the knowledge of hydrotherapy (the use of water in treatment of many ailments that afflict us) and equipment to accomplish many of the treatments; thankful for the Creator's gift of healing for damaged tissue when nutritional needs needs are met; thankful for this message from Psalm 103:8-14 where it is written: "God is sheer mercy and grace; not easily angered, he’s rich in love. He doesn’t endlessly nag and scold, nor hold grudges forever. He doesn’t treat us as our sins deserve, nor pay us back in full for our wrongs. As high as heaven is over the earth, so strong is his love to those who fear him. And as far as sunrise is from sunset, he has separated us from our sins. As parents feel for their children, God feels for those who fear him. He knows us inside and out, keeps in mind that we’re made of [dust]." (MSG); thankful to have access to 3ABN's spring campmeeting via my computer; thankful for the messages heard last evening; thankful every time I think on these words from Ephesians 3:17-19 where we read: "... May you, having been [deeply] rooted and [securely] grounded in love, be fully capable of comprehending with all the saints (God’s people) the width and length and height and depth of His love [fully experiencing that amazing, endless love]; and [that you may come] to know [practically, through personal experience] the love of Christ which far surpasses [mere] knowledge [without experience], that you may be filled up [throughout your being] to all the fullness of God [so that you may have the richest experience of God’s presence in your lives, completely filled and flooded with God Himself]." (AMP); thankful for every new day of life - each one is more precious to me! I was thankful for rain that waters the thirsty earth and keeps things green and growing; thankful as I read this beautiful message from Psalm 90:1-2 where it is written: "God, it seems you’ve been our home forever; long before the mountains were born, long before you brought earth itself to birth, from “once upon a time” to “kingdom come”—you are God." (MSG); so thankful for the 3 ABN Campmeeting Sabbath programming - the meetings thus far have been a real blessing; thankful to have on-line access to 3 ABN, Hope TV, and the many other programs sharing Bible truths straight from the Word of God; and thankful to read (and share) this message from Habakkuk 3:19 where it is written: "The Lord God is my strength [my source of courage, my invincible army]; He has made my feet [steady and sure] like hinds’ feet and makes me walk [forward with spiritual confidence] on my high places [of challenge and responsibility]."
