Thanksgiving VI ~
7-13 April: This week, I have been thankful for knowing the One who is in control of the winds and the waves (Mark 4:41) and praying that He will redirect the rain forecast; thankful for a helper who is coming to assist in the finishing of the roofing project; thankful for faith that accepts these words as mine: "I have been crucified with the Anointed One—I am no longer alive—but the Anointed is living in me; and whatever life I have left in this failing body I live by the faithfulness of God’s Son, the One who loves me and gave His body on the cross for me." (Galatians 2:20; VOICE); thankful for the D.D. whose arrival on this date I've been celebrating joyfully ever since; thankful for a halt,or at least a diminishing, of the precipitation while folks took care of the situation that was allowing ingress for the rain; thankful for this assuring promise from Romans 5:9-10 where we read: "... There is still much more to say of his unfailing love for us! For through the blood of Jesus we have heard the powerful declaration, 'You are now righteous in my sight.' And because of the sacrifice of Jesus, you will never experience the wrath of God. So if while we were still enemies, God fully reconciled us to Himself through the death of His Son, then something greater than friendship is ours. Now that we are at peace with God, and because we share in His resurrection life, how much more we will be rescued from sin’s dominion!" (TPT); thankful that the school-teacher who lives in this house is hitching a ride with another teacher whose ride is a big truck that can bully through any possible flooding as they drive down to their schools (flooding is reported in levels below the Camas Prairie); thankful to have a D.G.D. visiting and willing to help on the roof project; thankful for these words from Hebrews 1:2-3 where they are written: "... He has spoken to us in [the person of a] Son, Whom He appointed Heir and lawful Owner of all things, also by and through Whom He created the worlds and the reaches of space and the ages of time [He made, produced, built, operated, and arranged them in order]. He is the sole expression of the glory of God [the Light-being, the out-raying or radiance of the divine], and He is the perfect imprint and very image of [God’s] nature, upholding and maintaining and guiding and propelling the universe by His mighty word of power. When He had by offering Himself accomplished our cleansing of sins and riddance of guilt, He sat down at the right hand of the divine Majesty on high, " (AMPC); thankful to see big patches of blue overhead - may not last all day, but thankful for something other than constant precipitation; thankful for the showers of blessing that are raining down day after day; thankful for the message written in Romans 5:6-8 where we read: "For while we were yet weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. For one will hardly die for a righteous man. Yet perhaps for a righteous person someone would even dare to die. But God commends His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." (WEB); thankful for the ability to move around inside and on even surfaces without any assistive devices needed; thankful to still be able to button my own buttons, tie my own laces, and snap my own snaps - AND to accomplish little services for others as well; SO thankful for the Savior described in 1 Peter 2:24 where we read: "'“He Himself bore our sins' in His body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; 'by His wounds you have been healed.'” (NIV); thankful for a new day of life and the strength that remains; thankful for all the delights of anticipation; thankful for the admonition Jesus gave (as recorded in Luke 9:23-24); "If any of you want to walk My path, you’re going to have to deny yourself. You’ll have to take up your cross every day and follow Me. If you try to avoid danger and risk, then you’ll lose everything. If you let go of your life and risk all for My sake, then your life will be rescued, healed, made whole and full." (VOICE); thankful as I anticipate meeting with my church family for study and prayer, for praise, worship, and fellowship as we meet together on God's holy Sabbath day; thankful for the dear little sister whose arrival on this day I celebrate; and thankful for these words from Romans 3:23-24 where they are written: "You see, all have sinned, and all their futile attempts to reach God in His glory fail. Yet they are now saved and set right by His free gift of grace through the redemption available only in Jesus the Anointed." (VOICE).
