Thanksgiving V ~
7-13 October: This week, I was thankful for the grace daily extended to me by our Father above; thankful for the greatest gift ever given - Jesus - to be our eternal Savior; thankful to read the words of the psalmist from Psalm 63:1 where he wrote: "O God, You are my God, earnestly will I seek You; my inner self thirsts for You, my flesh longs and is faint for You, in a dry and weary land where no water is." (AMPC); thankful for the legs that can still carry me through each day as I choose to increase, little by little, my activities on foot; thankful to my heavenly Father for the eyesight with which to see the beauty of the world around me; thankful for this message from Isaiah 43:11-12 where it is written: "'I, I am the Lord, and there is no Savior besides Me. I announced, I saved, I proclaimed, not some stranger among you. You are my witnesses,' says the Lord, 'and I am God.'" (CEB); thankful to be a daughter of the Most High God (John 1:12;AMP); thankful for the privilege to be able to share His love from my keyboard every day; thankful for this message from one of the oldest books in the Bible, a message written in Deuteronomy 13:4 where we read: " Follow the Lord and honor Him; obey Him and keep His commands; worship Him and be faithful to Him." (GNT); thankful as I look forward to the visit from our Pampered Feet lady, a nurse who does therapy on feet in the homes of those who use her services; thankful for the showers that are providing moisture for the thirsty earth; thankful for this message from Proverbs 19:20-21 where it is written: "Listen well to wise counsel and be willing to learn from correction so that by the end of your life you’ll be known for your wisdom. A person may have many ideas concerning God’s plan for ... life, but only the designs of His purpose will succeed in the end." (TPT); thankful for the thoughts posted by my former pastor, Skip McCarty, re a situation affecting our church; thankful that intra-organization disagreement need not be fatal to the organization; thankful as I read these words from Isaiah 12:2 where the prophet wrote: "God is the one who saves me; I will trust Him and not be afraid. The Lord, the Lord gives me strength and makes me sing. He has saved me.” (NCV); thankful for the forecast of a day filled with sunlight; thankful for laundry being processed as I work on this post; thankful for this message from Proverbs 1:8-9 which I have found to be true: "Pay close attention, my child, to your father’s wise words and never forget your mother’s instructions. For their insight will bring you success, adorning you with grace-filled thoughts and giving you reins to guide your decisions." (TPT); thankful to be celebrating another memorial of our God's creation of the planet on which we live - the day HE chose, to be observed into eternity (Genesis 2:2-3; Isaiah 66:23); thankful for the Hope Sabbath School format to be used as we review this week's Sabbath School lesson; and I am always thankful as I read these words from Jeremiah 29:11 (remembering that "every promise in the Book is mine!): "... 'I know the plans I have for you,' declares the Lord, 'plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.'" (NIV).
