29 April - 5 May: Last week, I was thankful for a new day of life and the promise of a forever life with our Savior one day; thankful to be a child of the King, the Creator God of the universe; thankful to read these words from Job 19:25-26 where it is written: "... As for me, I know that the One Who bought me and made me free from sin lives, and that He will stand upon the earth in the end. Even after my skin is destroyed, yet in my flesh I will see God." (NLV); thankful for a restful nights sleep in spite of the "failing battery" signal that began its chirping in the wee, small hours - I was able to go right back to sleep anyway; thankful for the delightful young lady who came to assist with "spring cleaning" and left things organized (and clean) behind her; thankful to remember this counsel from Ephesians 4:15 where it is written: "... Speaking the truth in love [in all things—both our speech and our lives expressing His truth], let us grow up in all things into Him [following His example] who is the Head—Christ." (AMP); thankful for the increasing evidences that spring has indeed arrived; thankful to know the cloudy skies will soon give way to sunshine; thankful, too, to read these words from Hebrews 11:6 where it is written: "... Without faith it is impossible to [walk with God and] please Him, for whoever comes [near] to God must [necessarily] believe that God exists and that He rewards those who [earnestly and diligently] seek Him." (AMP). And where does one FIND faith? Romans 10:17 tells us: "... Faith comes from hearing the Good News. And people hear the Good News when someone tells them about Christ." (ERV). I was thankful for the cyber travel that lets me visit Tuscany, in Italy, with a dear grandson and his wife, seeing the sights through his eyes (and his camera lens) - Thanks Constantin! I was thankful for the blessing of family members close to my heart, but living in far-away places; thankful that our Father has adopted me into His "forever" family; thankful for the Good Book that is filled with His counsel and His promises; thankful for this message from that Book: "Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him." (1 John 5:14-15, NKJV); thankful to see to little blossom buds lifting their heads toward the sky from the Horse-chestnut tree outside my window; thankful for the worthwhile tidbits that pop up as I scan messages on fb; thankful for the assurance of Revelation 1:5-6:
". . . To Him who ever loves us and has once [for all] loosed and freed us from our sins by His own blood, and formed us into a kingdom (a royal race), priests to His God and Father—to Him be the glory and the power and the majesty and the dominion throughout the ages and forever and ever. Amen (so be it)" (AMPC); thankful to be celebrating another Sabbath - God's own memorial of His work of creation (Genesis 2:2-3); I'm thankful for all the "church at home" that is available to me on the internet via Hope Channel and 3 ABN on the Sabbaths I can't be with my local church family; and thankful for this counsel and its promise that's written in Philippians 4:6-7 where we read: "Be careful (that is, full of care/worry) for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus." (KJV, with my additional note in text).
