Thanksgiving V ~

18-24 March:  This week, I was thankful for all the blessings, the conveniences in the home I'm privileged to share with my daughter and SIL; for days growing longer as the year rolls into spring; for this passage from Romans 15:13: "Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit"; thankful for the ability to turn off my wake-up call and keep on snoozin' - couldn't get to sleep at bedtime last night; thankful that the Pampered Feet lady can come today to deal with a couple of toenail problems that won't wait 'til the next appointment; thankful for this reminder from 1 Peter 2:2-3 where we read: "Like newborn babies you should crave (thirst for, earnestly desire) the pure (unadulterated) spiritual milk, that by it you may be nurtured and grow unto [completed] salvation, since you have [already] tasted the goodness and kindness of the Lord." (AMPC); thankful for the cheery greeting from D.D. as she was heading out for the day; thankful, too. for dear Dandee's slurpy greeting as he came into my room for comforting when she was gone; thankful to read these words from Jeremiah 17:7-8 where it is written: "Happy are those who trust in the Lord, who rely on the Lord. They will be like trees planted by the streams, whose roots reach down to the water. They won’t fear drought when it comes; their leaves will remain green.  They won’t be stressed in the time of drought or fail to bear fruit." (CEB); thankful for the loving affirmation of my heavenly Father's plans for me (Jeremiah 29:11); thankful for this new day of life; thankful to read these words from Ephesians 6:9-10 where it is written: "What else is there to say? Just this: be strong in the Lord, and in the strength of his power. Put on God’s complete armour. Then you’ll be able to stand firm against the devil’s trickery." (NTE); thankful for another day of life and strength to meet its challenges; for the "blessed hope" of a soon returning Savior; thankful for this message from James 1:12: "Those who stand firm during testing are blessed. They are tried and true. They will receive the life God has promised to those who love him as their reward." (CEB); thankful to be celebrating another of the Creator's blessed Sabbaths, set aside for all humanity at  the creation of this world; thankful for the joyful anticipation of study, praise, worship, and fellowship with my church family; and thankful for this promise from Isaiah 56:2 where it is written: "I will bless those who always observe the Sabbath and do not misuse it. I will bless those who do nothing evil.” (GNT).
