Thanksgiving IV ~

25 June-1 July: This week I have been thankful to have a new, fresh attitude of gratitude for the day; thankful to know our Father calls us ALL to listen for His promptings to prayer and praise; and  thankful for the promise of Jeremiah 23:23,24: ". . . 'I am God, and I am always near. I am not far away. Someone might try to hide from Me in some hiding place. But it is easy for Me to see that person,' says the Lord, 'because I am everywhere in heaven and earth.'” (ERV); thankful for the dear lady who comes to care for D.D.'s feet and mine - what a blessing! Thankful for all who serve others with humble, gentle hearts; and thankful for this counsel from Leviticus 19:17,18 where we read: ". . . If your neighbor does something wrong, tell him about it, or you will be partly to blame. Forget about the wrong things people do to you, and do not try to get even. Love your neighbor as you love yourself. I am the Lord." (NCV); thankful to have heard the D.S. who is visiting share his testimony for God's Word with the Pampered Feet lady; thankful for the fresh pedicure; and thankful to read this prayer from Psalm 86:11 - it's the echo of my own hearts prayer: "Teach me, Lord, what you want me to do, and I will obey you faithfully; teach me to serve you with complete devotion." (GNT); thankful for fresh water from taps in the kitchen, the bathroom, and outdoors around the house - so much of this world has to carry water from a distant source to meet their culinary and sanitation needs; thankful for heated water at the turn of a handle - another blessing! I am always thankful for this promise from 2 Peter 3:9 where we read: "The Lord does not delay and is not tardy or slow about what He promises, according to some people’s conception of slowness, but He is long-suffering (extraordinarily patient) toward [us], not desiring that any should perish, but that all should turn to repentance." (AMPC); thankful for the opportunity to begin a strengthening program with the local physical therapy practice - won't be race-training, but working for more muscles in my legs; thankful for another new day of life; and thankful for this prayer shared in Psalm 138:8, where we read: "The Lord will fulfill his purpose for me. Lord, your faithful love endures forever; do not abandon the work of your hands." (CSB); thankful to have been freed from a whining spirit, frustration with the things I am unable to control; thankful for a desire to see my life through my Father's eyes and for His Word to guide me; and thankful as I look forward to the day ". . . the Lord shall be king over all the earth: in that day shall there be one Lord, and His name one." (Zechariah 14:9; KJV); thankful to be celebrating a new Sabbath morning - the day our Lord called His own - with plans for study, praise, worship, and fellowship with my delightful church family in G'ville; thankful for the PT's suggestions for the little, twice-a-day, leg-strengthening exercises I can do at home; and thankful for this counsel to us believers from Romans 12:2,3: ". . . Let God change you inside with a new way of thinking. Then you will be able to understand and accept what God wants for you. You will be able to know what is good and pleasing to him and what is perfect. God has given me a special gift, and that is why I have something to say to each one of you. Don’t think that you are better than you really are. You must see yourself just as you are. Decide what you are by the faith God has given each of us." (ERV).
