Thanksgiving IV ~

11-17 June:  this week I have been thankful for clear skies; thankful for the furry friend that spent a quiet night with me 'cause D.D. was doing her EMT activities out-of-town; and thankful for this reminder from Psalm 46:10,11: “Be still, be calm, see, and understand I am the True God. I am honored among all the nations. I am honored over all the earth. You know the Eternal, the Commander of heavenly armies, surrounds us and protects us. . . ." (VOICE); thankful to know it's true that "Jesus loves me . . . ." and loves you, too; thankful for a beautiful sunrise (and to be awake to see it); and thankful to believe the words of praise from Psalm 19:1,2 where we read: "The heavens tell the glory of God. and the skies announce what his hands have made. Day after day they tell the story. Night after night they tell it again." (ICB); thankful for the relief of the knee pain that had me hobbling earlier; thankful for good rest during the night past; and thankful for the promise of Luke 11:12,13 where we read: ". . . If [your child] asks for an egg, will give him a scorpion? If you, then, being evil [that is, sinful by nature], know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask and continue to ask Him!” (AMP); thankful for the sunlight streaming in through my window after the mixed weather the past several days; thankful for our Father's steadfast love for me and for all His children; and thankful for the reassurance of these words from Philippians 3:20 where we read: ". . . Our place-of-citizenship is in the heavens, from where also we are eagerly-awaiting the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ." (DLNT); thankful to know the "good news" of the Creator's love for humanity - for all He's done to assure a place in His kingdom to all who desire to be there; thankful that one need not have attained perfection to be used in sharing this "good news" with others; and thankful for these words from Psalm 66:16 that echo the words of my own heart: "Come! Listen, all you who are loyal to God! I will declare what He has done for me." (NET); thankful for life and a reasonable measure of good health - always; thankful that there is sunlight in my heart even though it's not really sunny out-of-doors; and thankful for these words from  Psalm 103:10-12 where we read: "He has not dealt with us after our sins nor rewarded us according to our iniquities. For as the heavens are high above the earth, so great are His mercy and loving-kindness toward those who reverently and worshipfully fear Him. As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us." (AMPC); thankful to be able to spend another couple of days with my sis - this time traveling to see another dear friend visiting from Indonesia at his Idaho home in Orofino; thankful for another beautiful Sabbath morning; and thankful for these words from the sacred scriptures which remind us: "Sing to God, sing praises to His name, cast up a highway for Him Who rides through the deserts—His name is the Lord—be in high spirits and glory before Him! A father of the fatherless and a judge and protector of the widows is God in His holy habitation." (Psalm 68:4,5; AMPC).
