Thanksgiving III ~

7-13 August:  This week I have been thankful for the many programs on-line that are Biblically based and not preaching human traditions for truth (find www.hopetv.org www.amazingfacts.org www.itiswritten.com www.3ABN.org to start); thankful for David Asscherick's message about the certainty of the God who IS love (available on YouTube); and I am thankful for this promise in Isaiah 33:22: ". . . the Eternal One is our Judge; He has prescribed our laws; He rules over us, and He is the One who will save us" (VOICE); thankful to discover this factoid: The Batchelors of Science Nursing (BSN) degree has been chosen as the toughest degree among all undergraduate degrees by the Guinness Book . . . . - I'm thankful to have completed mine; I am thankful for the three times that I was a "late entry" after the class was registered but a spot became available for me; and thankful I am for these words: "The Lord is pleased with his people, and he gives victory to those who are humble. All of you faithful people, praise our glorious Lord!
Celebrate and worship" Psalm 149:4,5 (CEV); for straight counsel from the Word - I was reading the lesson and found four passages that were the perfect response to a question that came up earlier in the day; I'm thankful to be confident of the love God has for all His children (me, TOO!) and I am thankful for this precious assurance from Luke 12:6,7: "Are not five sparrows sold for two copper coins [Gr assarion, a Roman coin equal to a 16th of a denarius (the denarius was counted as a day’s wages for an unskilled worker)]? Yet not one of them has [ever] been forgotten in the presence of God. Indeed the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Do not be afraid; you are far more valuable than many sparrows" (AMP); I'm thankful for the silent memory jog that reminded me I'd not yet posted the weekly edition of these thankful bits - it's done now; thankful to watch D.D. and her hubby driving off for some special time together - not easy to accomplish when living with other family members; And thankful for the beautiful message of Psalm 46:1,2: "God is our refuge and strength, a tested help in times of trouble. And so we need not fear even if the world blows up and the mountains crumble into the sea: (TLB); for the forecast of a WEEK of clear weather and warmer temps - it's been an unusual summer: thankful for the confidence I've been given in trusting the promise of Jesus, "I will come again . . . ."; and for the message in Matthew 24 that tell us what Jesus said would happen before He returns - most of them are now history - but I look for the day when these words come true: "For just as the lightning comes from the east and flashes as far as the west, so will be the coming [in glory] of the Son of Man [everyone will see Him clearly]" (v.27 - AMP); thankful for the messages in the Word where the Creator's plan for this planet are revealed and we are warned to be ready for many changes from life here and now; I'm thankful for another sunshine-y morning; and I am thankful for these words from 1 Corinthians 6:19, 20: " You surely know that your body is a temple where the Holy Spirit lives. The Spirit is in you and is a gift from God. You are no longer your own. God paid a great price for you. So use your body to honor God" (CEV); thankful to be celebrating another Sabbath with family and friends at our home church today - what blessings await with this time of study, praise, and worship; I am thankful for our Creator's foresight - He knew we would need a day dedicated to rest and provided it right from the beginning (Genesis 2:2,3); and especially thankful for this counsel from Ephesians 2:9,10: " It’s not something you did that you can be proud of. Instead, we are God’s accomplishment, created in Christ Jesus to do good things. God planned for these good things to be the way that we live our lives" (CEB).
