Thanksgiving III ~
12-18 June: This week I've been thankful to have enjoyed a Sabbath afternoon outing with D.D. and D.S.I.L. to attend a sacred music concert in Grangeville and a return home via a route not previously taken around our local airport; for the message of Psalm 19:1; "The heavens are telling . . . ." - whether a starry night or a golden sky at dawn, what a message they are sharing! I'm thankful that the internet is back in service for us this morning -
something was interfering with the process last night; thankful for
plans to visit Colorado family next month - always good when I get to
see my kids (and there's a new great-grandbaby to meet!); and thankful
for these words from Isaiah 12:2: “Behold, God, my salvation! I will
trust and not be afraid, for the Lord God is my strength and song; yes,
He has become my salvation”(AMP); for the freedoms that still exist in this country under the Stars and
Stripes - Hoorah! for the red, white, and blue! I am thankful for all
who serve, who work to maintain those freedoms; and thankful for the
Supreme Being who gives us freedom to worship Him (or not) - as Joshua
said, "If it is unacceptable in your sight to serve the Lord, choose for
yourselves this day whom you will serve: . . . but as for me and my
house, we will serve the Lord” (Joshua 24:15 - AMP); for limbs and digits that move as directed - growing older isn't always
a lot of fun (with prayers for those who've lost some of these
abilities); I'm thankful for all who call (and TREAT) me as a friend -
you are much appreciated; And thankful for the message of Isaiah 27:3,5:
“I, the Lord, am [your] Keeper; I [care for you] every moment. so
that no one will harm [you]; I guard [you] night and day. . . . cling
to My strength and rely on My protection [My stronghold], . . . make
peace with Me . . . ."; (AMP, adapted); thankful to learn that my overseas son is safely back in the U.S. of A.
- welcome home! I am thankful to get a video of a fellow singing
"Victory In Jesus!" (an old favorite of mine) from a D.G.D. - thanks,
darlin'! And I am thankful for the message from Psalm 103:13: "Just as a
father loves his children, so the Lord loves those who fear and worship
Him [with awe-filled respect and deepest reverence]" (AMP); for Friday prep almost completed; for anticipation of visiting with dear friends; and for the expression of praise from Psalm 68:4: "Our God, you are the one who rides on the clouds and we praise you. Your name is the Lord, and we celebrate as we worship you" (CEV); thankful for the safe arrival of D.S.I.L.'s parents from their long drive from AZ; for this new Sabbath on which we gather for study, praise, worship, and warm fellowship with sisters and brothers; and for knowledge of our Creator who's still in charge of the elements He has made - Isaiah 38:7,8 gives this example: "This is the sign from the Lord to show you that he will do what he says: “Look, I am causing the shadow that is on the steps [sundial] of Ahaz to move back ten steps. The sun’s shadow will go back up the ten steps that it has already been on. Then the shadow went back ten steps.” (ERV).
