Thanksgiving III ~

27 March-2 April:  This week I have been thankful for my children - all of them - and the delightful "in-laws" they've added to the family, what blessings they bring to this old heart! I'm thankful, too, for the friends from near and far who brighten my days with their notes, e-mails, and fb posts; and for this message from Mark 5:19: " . . Go home to your family, and tell them how much the Lord has done for you and how merciful He has been to you”; to be feeling ever so much better than at the end of the last week - all praise to our Creator's programming the human body for health and wholeness! I'm thankful, too, for some knowledge of basic health concepts to help determine "truth" from the hype in media; and for this precious promise from Isaiah 25:8,9: "He will swallow up death forever. The Lord God will wipe tears from every face; He will remove his people’s disgrace from off the whole earth, for the Lord has spoken. They will say on that day, 'Look! This is our God, for whom we have waited—and he has saved us! This is the Lord, for whom we have waited; let’s be glad and rejoice in his salvation!'” - A great day coming!   I was thankful to waken without what would seem to be an opened tap in my head; I am thankful, too, for the beauty available at the click of my mouse when I think of the "night lights" in the stars; and I am thankful for the amazing words of this message from Psalm 8:3,4 : "I look at the heavens you made with your hands. I see the moon and the stars you created. And I wonder, “Why are people so important to you? Why do you even think about them? Why do you care so much about humans? Why do you even notice them?" (ERV) - because He IS love!  I am thankful for a thoughtful message from I Am Second, a favorite website promoting values I can whole-heartedly support; for the arrival yesterday of flooring that was supposed to be installed over the spring break next week, but had been "delayed" with a 6 April arrival date; and for this assurance from Hebrews 4:16: ". . . We can feel free to come before God’s throne where there is grace. There we receive mercy and kindness to help us when we need it" (ERV); for the trip with my DSIL to Riggins for a visit with my sis and friends; to be caught up on my sleep - wakened very early with no desire for snoozing; and for anticipation of the day when ". . . the Lord of heavenly forces will be exalted in justice, and the holy God will show himself holy in righteousness" (Isaiah 5:16, CEB); for another bright and beautiful sunlight-filled morning; for the years of my life past the "threescore and ten" the Bible calls "the days of our years" (Psalm 90:10) - like any life, there have been paths I'd rather not travel again, but the Master is faithful and He's NEVER left me alone; and I am thankful for this promise from Hosea 14:4: ". . . I will cure you of . . . faithlessness, and my love will know no bounds. . . ." (TLB);  for another Sabbath - with plans for a day of study, praise, and worship with fellow believers; thankful for the dear sister who's willing to come way out of her way to provide a ride to services (since our regular drivers are unavailable this morning); and thankful for these words from Psalm 122:1: "I was glad when they said to me, 'Let us go to the house of the Lord!'”
