Thanksgiving III ~

13-19 March:  This week I have been thankful to see robins - the first I've seen this year - flocking on our lawn (much to Dandee's dismay!); for the longer evenings with - another indication spring is on its way - the return of Daylight Saving Time (an oxymoron if I ever heard one! But I AM thankful for the longer evenings); and I am thankful for these words from Romans 8:28: "We know that God is always at work for the good of everyone who loves him. They are the ones God has chosen for his purpose" (CEV); for the abundance of fresh fruit in the 'fridge - apples, strawberries, kiwis, and pineapple; for a fresh devotional routine with readings from the gospels, primarily; and for this reassurance from 1 John 5:11-13: "And this is the testimony: God gave eternal life to us, and this life is in his Son. The one who has the Son has life. . . . I write these things to you who believe in the name of God’s Son so that you can know that you have eternal life" (CEB); for sunlight on the snow that came down Monday evening (with forecasts suggesting a continuing possibility of more snow showers over the next three days, but it won't last long) - Spring is ALMOST here! I'm thankful for the continual grace that surrounds me - another kind of "spring" , for my heart; and for the message of Acts 4:12: "Salvation can be found in no one [but Jesus]. Throughout the whole world, no other name has been given among humans through which we must be saved”; for my dear family - sons and daughters, near and far away - and the DS&DDIL, the grands and great-grands they've added to the family; thankful that God's Word has been preserved through the years and is still applicable for us who believe - ". . . and is useful for teaching, for showing mistakes, for correcting, and for training character" 2 Timothy 3:16 (CEB); that there are only three more days of winter (including THIS one!) and then it's SPRING! I'm thankful, too, for the grand postal event yesterday - four parcels arrived from different i-net orders, better than Christmas! And I am thankful for these words from Malachi 3:16,17: "Then those who feared the Lord spoke to one another, and the Lord listened and heard them; so a book of remembrance was written before Him for those who fear the Lord and who meditate on His name. 'They shall be Mine,' says the Lord of hosts, 'On the day that I make them My jewels'" (NKJV); for all the blessings, the conveniences in the home I'm privileged to share with my daughter and SIL; for days growing longer as the year rolls into spring; and for this passage from Romans 15:13: "Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit";  to be celebrating another Sabbath and enjoying the anticipation of time with others who are worshiping the Creator as He has directed; thankful, too, for another beautiful, clear morning bathed in sunlight; and for these words from Psalm 92:1: A Psalm. A Song for the Sabbath day. "It is good to give thanks to the Lord, and to sing praises to Your name, O Most High. . . ."
