Thanksgiving III ~
14-20 February: This week I have been thankful for fresh eggs and doufu along with the fruit available - yum! I love my
breakfast! I'm thankful, too, for the grace my Father provides new
every day; and for this message from Romans 4:17: ". . . this
promise is from God himself, who makes the dead live again and speaks of
future events with as much certainty as though they were already past."
TLB. It is our faith that pleases Him and allows us to see all He has
promised as already accomplished in us - hallelujah!; for sound sleep and the restoration sleep brings; for hours of
entertainment I've experienced watching the four-leggers as they
interact with each other and with the critters they see out the window;
and for the message of Micah 6:8: "He has showed you . . . what is good;
and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love
kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?"; for the wonderful privilege of prayer - a direct line to the throne-room
of the universe and the God who hears our heart cries; for the gentle
rain watering the earth; and for these words from Isaiah 45:8:
"Shower, O heavens, from above, and let the skies rain down
righteousness; let the earth open, that salvation may sprout forth, and
let it cause righteousness to spring up also. . . .."; for a new day of life and the strength and health remaining; for D.D.'s
quick response when I told her the dishwasher was non-responsive - a
quick attack on one wall outlet brought it back to life; and for this
message from Romans 8:35,37: "Who shall separate us from the love of
Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or
nakedness, or peril, or sword? No, in all these things we are more than
conquerors through him who loved us"; for the current contact info for my church family; for the "When God's
People Pray" study which I'm attending on Wednesday mornings through the
next four weeks; and for these words from Lamentations 3:24: “The Lord
is my portion and my inheritance,” says my soul; “Therefore I have hope
in Him and wait expectantly for Him” (AMP); for the privilege of friendship - and the ability to add new ones among
the established friends; for a full "to do" list to keep me occupied
today; and for these words about that great and wonderful day when Jesus
returns from Isaiah 25:9: "And it shall be said in that day, 'Lo, this
is our God; we have waited for Him, and He will save us: this is the
Lord; we have waited for Him, we will be glad and rejoice in His
salvation"'; I'm thankful to wake to another Sabbath morning and a
beautiful sunrise out my window; for the thought-provoking video on
you-tube last evening - one of the Venden's ". . .Jesus . . . ." series;
and for this message from Isaiah 57:15 (CJB): "For thus says the High,
Exalted One who lives forever, whose name is Holy: 'I live in the high
and holy place but also with the broken and humble, in order to revive
the spirit of the humble and revive the hearts of the broken ones'" - I
love the inclusiveness of these words from the Common Jewish Bible
instead of the gender-specific words of many versions. My head knows
that "man/men" means people, but I will often change the adjective to
"she/her" so the words get into my heart (or find the passage in another
translation).
